Jungle Cruise and Maharajah Jungle Trek questions

First, when is the best time to ride Jungle Cruise? I've ridden at night and gotten a lot of tired guides. Is there a shift change mid-day that would make for fresh and funny cast members?

Secondly, the tigers at Maharajah Jungle Trek are my favorite! Usually we stop by right before park close when the cats are running around excited for their dinner. What is the best time to see the cats? Is there a certain time in the day when they play with their toys and run around? I know Disney likes to change the schedule for the cats to keep them guessing, but I'm curious if anybody has had any luck besides at park close.

Thanks!

I have no answer for you on the Jungle Cruise except go when it isnt scorching Hot!

As for the tigers I agree that towards the end of the day is the best time to visit them and the bats, I have also found them to be very active first thing the morning.

I have not had a problem with tired guides at night on the JC, but I guess it is possible for it to happen, we all get tired at work sometimes. Also I found that being at AK first thing in the morning when i just opens is the best time to see the animals active.

I like to ride the Jungle Cruise in the early am of my second MK day. I like to ride it once before 10 am and once at night. I love the way it looks at night.

Excellent! So I'll try them both first thing in the morning, and maybe the last ride of the night for Jungle Cruise as well. :) I love the new youtube videos of some of the skippers! Have you guys seen those?

JMagicFink:

I will comment on the JC since I am a former JC Skipper. The skippers are brand new around 3-4pm when the night shift skippers come on board! If you are having a problem with tired skippers, then try to go after 4pm for a fresh skipper. I can tell you, the time that I was a skipper, I never got tired, even though we said the same spiel over and over every 10 inutes for 8 hours! So if you do get a tired skipper, just put yourself in their shoes of saying the same thing over and over again during the day or evening!
As for the cats, I have heard early AM is the best to see the animals as they come out into the guest viewing areas, but evening can be good too!

You know, of all the years I've been going to MK, I don't know if I've ever gone on Jungle Cruise at night! I think I may have to make that happen this trip. Do they light up all the set pieces / animals so that you can see everything at night?

This looks like a job for the YouTubes! Gotta go and see if there are examples out there.

For Maharajah Jungle Trek I've been told to visit around 4pm. That's when most of the animals are getting ready to go into their holding.

I can't remember what time it was when we saw the Bats on the trek this last July, but I do remember them doing some very inappropriate grooming....lol So I would avoid that time of day unless you are ready to answer some awkward questions.
