June Trip Help

Hello everyone.

I'm working on a surprise trip for my extended family (my wife and I, my brother and his wife, and my Mom and Dad) in early June. It looks like we are locked into June 4 - June 10. I know the crowds really start to build up quickly this time of year, but I'm trying to figure out what to expect.

We are debating between AKL and PO for a resort. We're hoping that the forthcoming (hopefully!!) AP rates for June will bring AKL within our target. My main concern is if the crowds are big enough we could have bus issues and long waits at the resort and parks.

Can anyone provide any insight into the crowds in early June? I'm hoping that we are catching the summer crowds early enough that they won't be as bad as late June and the weather will be more tolerable than later in the summer.

Any help is appreciated.

I am also going in june 15-20 so I would love any info too.
But to answer what I can about your questions the crowds your dates fall under are peak season acording to birnbaum's guide but I have been in july which is much wose and it was not really that bad. The avarage temperature in orlando for june is 91-72 (being the high and low) rainfall is 7.3 in wich is the most rain out of any month the good news is there usally sunny and short showers. Now for the resort question (your real question) it depends on if your group wants to visit downtown disney alot PO has a boat that will take you directily to that area, eveywhere else though you must take the bus so really I don't see that much diffirence for waits at either resort in fact I would think AK lodge would be better becasue PO has to share the bus with french quarters and riverside whereas AK lodge is one location. Hope this helps if I have made any mistakes I opoligize.

My family and I are going June 6th-12th. We have gone that week for the past 3 years. Its great. The crowds only really get heavy on the weekends. Its not all that hot either. I do believe its the best time. We stayed at Riverside last trip and it was too bad having to share buses. AKL is way cooler tho! Hope that was some help!

My parents will be there from June 11th-18th i think.. They are staying at POFQ. We went around this time two years ago and it wasnt that bad. The crowds tend to get worse after that.

We went the first week of June 04....It was GREAT weather was nice and the crowds were small to med. We park hopped two of the days, the crowds and weather worked out perfect, we got to do alot. Hope everyone has a great time....I will also try to make a June trip this year.

Heres my opinion, I like POR. I have never stayed at AKL but have been there. It seems as though it is a long way away from everything but Animal Kingdom whereas POR is centrally located and remember that sometimes you have to stand on those busses. Also to consider is cost of a mod v/s a delux resort. Granted AKL has more services to offer but will you use them? What type of setting is your family more comfortable in, the savana of a african wildlife preserve or on the riverbanks of louisana in a time gone by. As far as when to visit remember that park hours are usually later starting the last week or so of june. But remember.....this is just my opinion.
