June no longer blocked out.

Someone posted on Facebook that Silver and Weekday passholders are no longer blacked out for June. Looking at MDE it appears to confirm this. Anyone have any insight?

But has anyone gotten an email or is disney just expecting we will stumble upon the news by accident

I got an email and a notification from MDE on my phone about the changes.

Maybe I'll go one last time before blackout and take advantage, but I feel like two trips within one month might be good enough for now. :p

I haven't gotten an email but I have friends that did.
I always hope a company as big as Disney would have a more robust communication system. They should be able to segment the silver pass customers from the gold pass customers so that folks like me don't constantly get emails all summer saying "guess what cool stuff passholders can do this summer!"

Magic Feather started a thread in news and rumors and cites low park attendance as one of the reasons for lifting the block in June
Just got back June 1 through 9. Epcot at nighttime felt very light. Illuminations had great viewing on the rail right up to showtime, and we rode Soarin around 5pm with a 20 minute wait.

All other parks felt appropriately busy.

And why did I pay for Gold?

So that if park attendance didn't drop so low (which was the cause of dropping some of the blackout dates), you can still get in.

The parks are so poorly attended right now, that you shouldn't notice the lifting of black out dates.

Also, the blackout lift is rather sudden. You got all your FPs and ADRs in place, the others don't.

Actually, you’re somewhat wrong. We have/had ALL of our FPs that we could book (our 7 days) and couldn’t book more until we used some which we did yesterday. Then, when we went to book for later this month, we had a much harder time booking what we wanted when we wanted which would have NOT been the case prior to this block-out date lift.
Also, we typically go to the last show of FOLK which are normally somewhat light except for super busy days. Yesterday, FOLK was to capacity for the last show. That has NEVER happened during this time of year in years before.
