Blizzard Beach.
Today I slept in and made it to Blizzard Beach at around 3 pm when the wait times were less (deliberate choice as I heard that's a good time to go when its not busy).
I walked without sandles or shirt from the parking lot (did have trunks on) to the entrance and traded in my small credit card size waterproof container in for a slightly larger one that could hold my annual pass and keys. My parking space was in row 2, last one. Sorta long trek. But not really.
So, I didn't have anything to shlep and that was cool. Except my feet. Those were not cool. Those were hot at times. I don't like the way my thongs create a tan line (I'm talking about my feet here) so I tried not wearing them today.
The ground is hot, even at 3pm and with water on it and clouds. I think I'll get blisters tonight.
The lazy river was my 'exercise of choice' and swam around about one length, lazed for 3 and swam unaided (no waterwings) for a lap at the end for a 5th round.
On my third round on the tube a cast member in the water (not a lifeguard) warned me that I've been in the water too long and I'm going to get burnt if I'm in any longer .
I told her that its my body and I can do what I want and that she should keep her rules off of it. I think I also yelled around the corner "don't you judge me!"
Actually, I just said; "I'll be o.k." Which I was, am...I've got a nice tan, my face is not warm or glowing. My nose is a little toasty, but I've got an aloe lotion that will take care of that.
Good times.
I left around 5:40. The clouds were getting dark and I heard thunder as I was leaving.
Next time I will arrive at 5 or 4:30 and just do two laps or so. The lines for Summet Plummet are still very long at the end of the day and the lazy river still pretty crowded at 3.
Over and out.
