Trip Report July tr

Here I sit in my POR room at the end of my WDW trip... Oh boy here we go...

First I'll go over the resort issues.... Had to have the rooms AC replaced 3 times (each of the first 3 nights). First AC didn't blow cold... Next 2 ACs the compressor worked but the fan didn't blow properly... AC #4 finally fixed the issue... No offer to make anything right.

July 5th: check-in, uneventful

July 6th: MK. Drove to park for pre opening BBB apt. Low crowds. All rides functional for Lion's share of day. Was very surprised at the low crowds. Good day overall. Great dinner at hoop de doo.

July 7: EPCOT. Horrible Transportation issues to and from park. 40+ minute wait to get a bus to park and when we left around 7pm. Horrible experience through security to get into park. Took well over 30 mins to make it through bag check at Park opening. Reasonable crowds, frozen was down for the first half of the day. Other rides functioned the majority of the day. Great dinner at garden grill

July 8: AK. Once again horrible Transportation issues to and from park. Unacceptable wait times both ways. Navi, dinosaur, and EE sporadically down through day. Dinosaur more than the other 2. Crowds much heavier. And they don't open Kali until 10am in the summer? (News to me, but I usually go in the fall and winter so it's usually not a priority). Good breakfast at Tusker house.

July 9: off day. Hang out at resort, go to Disney springs. Once again horrible Transportation issues both ways. Driver circled Riverside and FQ twice with a full bus before heading to DS for some reason

July 10: DHS. once again, horrible Transportation issues. Slinky dog was up and down at the 9am opening but was resolved fairly quick. Extremely heavy crowds, especially with TT being half down. Had a 5:45 reservation at 50s prime (our waitress had no desire to "play the part" so we missed the experience, but food was good) and decided to hit Midway mania at 4, it was showing a 40 minute wait. At 5:20 we had to leave the line because we were only about 1/2 through the queue... Straight up crowd manipulation.

July 11:EPCOT. Did morning EHM, once again horrible issues through security taking upwards of 45 mins. We got off bus at 7:10 and didn't make it into the park until 8:15. This was the ONLY morning we did not have morning transportation issues. Rides were functional for the most part. Spent most of afternoon in WS, not a bad day overall but crowds didn't bother us since between EHM and FP we did all the rides we wanted. Left park when illuminations finished and didn't make it back to hotel until after midnight (2 1/2 hours) due to transportation

July 12 (today): MK. EHM the only day we didn't have transportation issues... Got into park at EMH rope drop. Got in line for mine train... Broke down at Park open. After waiting 15 minutes and no resolution everyone starts leaving to go to other rides. At this point it's 8:15 and space and pan and showing a 60+ minute wait... So I woke up early for no reason.. whatever. Start to go to do splash and big thunder... Oh they no longer open the whole park for EMH.... They only open fantasyland and tomorrow land... At least I got to do Buzz and small world during EMH, surely the day can only get better... Oh how wrong I was...BTMRR was down ALL day and splash was down the first half of the day. U til sometime around noon. Mine train did resume operations in time for my fast pass, as did splash, but due to the downtime, all other rides had waits of 90 mins+... Horrible day overall.

This is the first Disney vacation were almost every aspect had major issues, consistently. I consistently had to wait for transportation upward of 45 mins between busses. Outright crowd manipulation on ride times wasting hours of days.

Outside of the first MK day, no daily experience was truly up to par. The first EPCOT day was adequate.

On my off day I went to the DVC presentation with the money to buy 200 points at Riviera but decided to wait until end of trip before I made the purchase... At this point, It doesn't look like that purchase is going to happen

Sorry to hear about the transportation issues. However, if you take a step back, it sounds like you had good food and overall things were OK.

If you take away the transportation issues, you sound like you had a decent trip. I’ve taken transportation almost out of the equation by staying at Beach a Club, Boardwalk and Grand Floridian. Well worth the extra cash to not have to take buses all the time.

You seem to have liked the food.

I feel you on the half open rides, not entirely open MK, and food stands being closed at odd times.

Hopefully, Disney will fix these issues as they are easily fixable.

Your AC not working is unacceptable and I’d complain to guest services until I got at least 1 full night comped.

I'm glad your meals you had were good, they are all places we are looking to try on our next trip

Not good at all about th transportations. I assume Riverside shares a bus with French Quarter ? Could that be part of the issue there?

Riverside and FQ share a bus to Disney springs and the water parks.

They do not share to the 4 main parks

I know in 2016 adventure and frontier lands were open. Truthfully I wouldn't have noticed if 7 dwarfs wasn't down
You are remembering incorrectly. During morning EMH, the only lands open are Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. It has been that way for years. All lands (though not all attractions) are open during evening EMH.

Sorry you suffered such poor transportation and ride closures. Sadly it has become the norm.

Fair enough, and I likely would not have noticed if mine train was functional.

But as it sat essentially emh was just for space and pan... Which is kind of ridiculous.
