We are planning a trip for July 2003. I was wandering how busy the parks are on July 4th. I have heard horror stories about the parks closing the gates at 11:00 becuase the park was already full.

Also, does anyone know if the Epcot Fireworks cruise runs on July 4th???

They mean the gate being closed at 11 AM because there are too many people in the parks. But if you stay at a Disney resort you don't have to worry about that. They let resort gueats in to the parks as long as the take Disney transportation to the park.

MK starts its "phases" (stop selling tickets.. start only letting in this kind of ticket.. and so on..)

New Years is actually said to be worse.

Epcot, i wouldn't worry too much about as long as you're in the park that morning sometime. We certainly didn't close our gates on the 4th.

We stay open really late too :)

Fun to finally see my exterior in the dark :)

...we were there for the 4th this year...absolute insanity...especially the Magic Kingdom, the worse...wall to wall people...they closed it sometime in the afternoon as well as Epcot...I don't know about MGM or AK.

...also, while they didn't publish it, the MK, Epcot and MGM all opened at 8am for resort guests...

...to compound the confusion on that day, there were new pins that were released at each park that can only be purchased at the specific park...so there were many, many local people arriving at and leaving the parks that normally would stay away on the 4th...

Rob....we were there on the 4th and Epcot was marked as "closed" on the signs entering the property...so we went to MGM for the evening.

They dont close Epcot on the 4th do they? I thought that they would keep all the parks open, Especially since Epcot has the illuminations it would be possible for them to have a "Great American Shootout" show or somethign with Fireworks that represent America ......

Of course it would be kindof weird with Italy and all those other places right behind them.....
