Hello everyone! :wave:

I have looked everywhere and can't seem to find anything on this. July 17th is the actual 50th Anniversary of Disneyland and I was wanting to know if they are doing anything special at WDW on that day.

I know DL has some things planned, but not sure exactly. I'm going to be in WDW July 11-18. I purposely extended our vacation so that we could have all of the 17th to spend in MK.

If anyone could help me out and let me know what's going to be going on or who will be there, I'd great appreciate it. Thanks a lot in advance! :kiss:

Somewhere I heard they were going to give out coupons for free cupcakes and going to pump Roy Disney's dedication speach through the park. I think it was on Mouseplanet.

It is a Happiest celebration Commemorative T-Shirt. "As with many special events in the past, guests at Walt Disney World can purchase a special limited-edition T-shirt on July 17, 2005. With a logo featuring Mickey Mouse and the castles of Disneyland and Walt Disney World, the shirt says “Celebrating 50 Years of Disney Theme Park Magic” at the top and “Walt Disney World Resort salutes Disneyland Resort, July 17, 1955–July 17, 2005” at the bottom," (quoted from MousePlanet). I know I will be picking one up!

Awwww. We're arriving at the Pop Century on the evening of the 17th, but don't have tickets to the parks till the 18th. I wonder if I'll be able to pick one up at the resort shop, or if they're limited to the parks only. The info just says "guests at WDW" can get them. Hmmm.

I am sure it will be crowded, but how many times in your lifetime do you get to experience something this big? ;)

I was there for the opening of Happiest Celebration on Earth in May. It was very very crowded and I figured "how many times in my life will i get to experiance this":) !!! I don't know...most people are visiting DL...I think it will be average summer crowds...but who knows?! SEE YOU THERE SWEETIE!:kiss:

We'll be arriving on the 17th as well. Often they hand out a button or similar token at MK gates. By chance I was at DL for Mickey's 75th birthday, and have that button.

Is the Roy Disney audio going to be the only thing we see from DL? Also, will there be no executives from WDW at the park?
