I don't have the official letter, cuz another forum member sent it to me and I lost it (maybe he can post it tomorrow), but it seems Disney has decided to cancel the Disneyana event this year, but there will be a pin event in September, at Epcot. This will be the largest pin event of the year, entitled "Journey through Time". Sounds to me like this will be when the official announcement for Time Racer (and maybe Soarin!) will come out!

Ouch!

"Journey Through Time"...

is it not, though, a tad early to announce any definite aspect of PG? It would only be Sept. 2003...

Oh well..

We'll just have to wait and see :)

Here is the official letter that was originally posted at www.dizpins.com

March 31, 2003

Dear Disneyana ConventionEar:

During the past decade we have made new friends, shared exciting experiences, and celebrated the "Magic of Disney" at the Official Disneyana Convention.

After much consideration, we have decided not to host an Official Disneyana Convention or an Official Disneyana Event in 2003, focusing our attention and resources towards other initiatives this year.

While we felt this was the right decision regarding the Disneyana event, we are enthusiastic about our continuing program of other merchandise events in 2003 including: "A Disney Adventure on the High Seas" - Celebration of Walt Disney Art Classics on board the Disney Wonder in May, "Mickey's Toontown of Pin Trading" at the Magic Kingdom in June, "Journey Through Time" Disney's Pin Celebration at Epcot in September and "999 Happy Haunts" event at the Magic Kingdom in October.** We look forward to having you join us for these exciting events.

Sincerely,

Official Disneyana Convention Team

**Events and event dates subject to change.

Not necessarily--generally, after an E-Ticket opens, it's all good to announce the next one. They didn't wait too long after Test Track opened to announce SPACE--certainly less than a year.
