What does the future look like for Journey into your Imagination? Kodak is gone, the ride has no line is it almost done? Would they ever restore it to its original glory and bring back the original ride?

I certainly hope not, at least the concept...I would love a new rendition of the ride, but I just hope they don't put in an entirely new one altogether.

I'd love to see the ride restored to its original glory (not that I saw it in person...a video on Youtube gave me a glimpse of what I missed out on, *sigh*) and PLUSSED. I'd like Dreamfinder back AND Figment given back to him. They were a great pair.

No they won`t, and the ride is called Journey into Imagination with Figment. Version 2 was called JIYI

How can they keep a ride open with no post show and a ride that isn't worth riding? Honestly I only think they could save the ride it is if they bring in Phineas and Ferb, hopefully work in Figment and Dremafinder.

The demise of the ride is far from reality. First, don't expect any updating of the ride until someone chooses to sponsor it. Sponsorship costs millions. Reality of this happening right now = zero. In the meantime, it runs well, has few breakdowns, and has much higher ridership than the OP would suggest. Apparently you haven't seen the half-hour lines on busy days. Epcot is young-child attraction deficient, and this (and Nemo) are two of the few attractions that are geared toward them in the park.

Don't look for any current refurbishments -- but don't look for its demise either.

Sorry, the attraction will never be returned to its "original glory".

Restoring the Dream Machine turntable and reinstalling ride track through what is now the downstairs Imageworks would be obscenely expensive. No sponsor is going to pay for that when the same money could buy an entirely new attraction experience tailored to their corporate message.

it seems the pulling out of a sponsor is a death sentence for a ride. shame, real shame. i never saw this one either before it was redone, and when i did see the new version, i came out thinking ' was that??'.... i feel most sorry for eric idle... it seems his pockets are no longer lined with cash from monty python, and so had to sink to dressing up like the moon for a few dimes. very sad indeed.

no doubt it's probably a bit better with all the post show interactive thingeys working, but most of them weren't when we went.

As a ride, the ride itself isn`t that bad. A pleasent C ticket with a few interesting and clever parts and a not-bad ride system. It`s only when you compare it to the original you see the huge flaws. And it`s far superior to JIYI.

I know nothing about the original ride or any other versions. But this ride is seriously the worst ride I have ever rode. It's awful. From the 90's feel to everything, to the cop out on the taste and feel section. It's absolutely embarrassing.

We (me, husband and daughter)have never seen the original. We love this one. Whenever we go on it, I can hear and see kids laughing, clapping and dancing around in their seats. My kid is 13 now so she is just plain to cool to show she likes it but I know she does. I just enjoy it a lot.

It's funny, I felt the original ride was kind of cheesy, but it had that...well, that "one little spark" that made it a MUST DO part of every trip. It's a similar spark I've always felt on Jungle Cruise and CoP...i.e. a little cheesy by today's standards, but so special to a Disney trip that you shouldn't touch it. OK- now I have the music going through my head. My first trip wasn't too long after Epcot first opened- and at that point, Figment felt like the backbone of Epcot...at least in the eyes of a kid. That being said, I have only seen the current version of the ride on YouTube (that'll all change in a couple of weeks) and I hated it. And when I learned that everything after the ride was also gone- I hated it even more. The reality- until this gets some serious sponsorship- nothing is changing for the better...and even if that sponsorship happens, I doubt they'd revert to the original ride...i.e. they'd want their own fresh new take on things- which wouldn't be bad if it ends up being a decent attraction again.

What will make me sad- my kids will likely love the current version of this ride and be none the wiser about the original attraction. Oh well- that's life.

What a big waste of valuble space, Epcot was themed around the future not the past,it is a joke that Captian Eo returned,Epcot is stuck in the 80's. What a shame.

if EPCOT was stuck in the 80's Horizons would still be there....what EPCOT (particularly FW) needs is direction and lots of $$ to make it great again.
