Journey into Imagination with Figment Update

The 3-D picture of Dr. Nigel Channing and Figment in the wait line has been replaced by a generic Imagination Institute logo. I saw this on a recent trip within the past week or so, and I thought I should mention it here. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures but it was a thing. Any thoughts?

A new Channing photo is hopefully on the way. They’ve been trying to replace it with one that works for over a year now.

A new Channing photo is hopefully on the way. They’ve been trying to replace it with one that works for over a year now.

I think you mean "regrettably" yes? There's a lot of things I've hoped Journey into Imagination would get; a new photo isn't one of them.

On my last visit I also noticed there were no more "imagination institute" lab coats worn by any of the Cast Members , only a generic dark blue uniform.

I'm surprised this hasn't been replaced. It was looking bad last year and this past August it looked flat out terrible. It couldn't be that hard to replace a semi-transparent piece of plastic, can it?

They never wanted to do that in the first place! They wanted to be... A LUMBERJACK!!!

It’s a nice walk on attraction. Is it time to put it out of its misery? In with something new and fresh.

I saw that around the time of the Epcot 35th Anniversary. They said that the change happened in August and that they don't know if the lab coats will ever return.

This happened when captain EO returned so that the CMs could work magic eye theatre and JII in the same costume. Cast in the gift shop at the end still wear the red/orange/blue institute costume, and the lab coat is optional over the blue costume last I heard.

Now we just need Palin and Jones to host an attraction. I think they'd be great at it.
