Silly to start a thread over this, but I just had to share with folks who would appreciate it...
I saw John Lasseter at Disneyland on Saturday night! :wave:
I was walking out of the park near City Hall with a friend around 11:00 PM, and I noticed a guy wearing the blue/green Tiki Room commemerative shirt they sold for the 45th anniversary of the show back in 2008, and I thought "Hey, I have that shirt, but I haven't worn it in a long time." It was then I noticed that there was a Disneyland tour guide with this group sort of leading them down the street, so I tried to see who was familiar or a celeb. A few seconds later it dawned on me that the guy wearing the Tiki Room shirt was John Lasseter!
I must have smiled or made a face, because he caught my eye as I stared and he smiled back and nodded as he walked with his wife. So cool!
This is not the first time I've seen him wandering the park in street clothes as a normal guest, but it's the first time I've made eye contact with him purely by accident. I also thought it was neat that he was wearing his Disneyland Tiki Room shirt.
Isn't it great that Disneyland has this huge Disneyland fan as one of the top Disney execs up in Burbank!? He obviously was here for the big World of Color premiere last night, but it speaks volumes that he stuck around for the whole weekend and was just spending a Saturday night at Disneyland. John Lasseter truly is a huge Disneyland fan! And he's got the Tiki Room commerative shirt to prove it! :lol:
