Jogging in a theme park for excercise

Take a jog around Crescent Lake, or run between Epcot & the Studios. (I have run from the World Traveler entrance in Epcot to Flying Fish to make dinner reservations).

Fun and motivating?

Or inconvenient and a waste of time?

Inconvenient to both you and everyone around you. Way to many people to get into any kind of rythem. As the front desk of your hotel what is they recommend as a jogging path. I'm sure they can point you in the right direction.

I'm looking forward to the Crescent Lake run next month while we are at BCV. The only time I ran in one of the parks was when I ran out during a monsoon downpour last August pushing a double jogging stroller from Tomorrowland back to BLT. My 2 yr old was not happy about the rain but was under cover with the rain cover. That might have been my fastest pace for a mile, too bad I hadn't thought to boot up my Nike app. LOL

It seems weird. If you stayed in the park after you'd be all sweaty. If you didn't - what an inconvenience to get to and from the park and for other guests being run-bulldozed by yourself.

I ran at CSR around the water. Heard that the Trails at the Campground are really nice but never made it over there. When you check in to your resort, ask for a running map. It's basic but can show paths around the resort and mileage for that path. I wouldn't run at the park myself. Too many people to make it beneficial for your run and your running will be an inconvenience to their photo's, walking, etc.

The only time we run: Skies turn dark, wind picks up, temp drops by 10-20 degrees. This equals thunderstorm on the way. Generally you have less than 10 minutes at that point.

Last trip we were in Tomorrowland at Cosmic Rays. The above happened. We began moving to the entrance plaza. We just hit the monorail canopy outside the turnstiles, the sky opened. Mind you we were walking at a very brisk pace down Main Street. And from the turnstiles, full tilt run.

But running in the parks for no real good reason? No.

If you want to run in the parks, I understand that the marathons typically go through some of the parks. That is your best bet.

My dad runs, and when we go, he jogs at our resort and he says it works :). But in the park, it isn't just an inconvenience. It's a safety hazard with all of the people in the park.

I think running in an empty park, like before park opening, would be fun & motivating! Lots of interesting things to look at. But during park hours, it'd be too crowded for me to enjoy the run. My dad is a runner, and he loves running the Boardwalk loop. He asked a CM at Epcot about entering through IG and running the WS before park open. lol, obviously that's not allowed - but I'd love to do that!

No not inside a theme park.

- Too crowded, people in the way, potential for you to knock someone over.
- Expensive, why pay a full days admission to spent most of it just running, waste of money.
- Weird, people will look at you as it is unusual, not the place for it.

So no, use an official running track at WDW/ESPN or Universal.

I meant the idea for locals/APs. Obviously you wouldn't do this if you were on vacation and paying for that day.

As an AP holder, I do walk a lap around DL before I leave for the night just for exercise. You are not permitted to run inside if DL though.
I do the same in Epcot before I leave the WS at night through the IG.

You could maybe get away with a nice leisurely walk up to a semi-vigorous walk. But running? No way. Too many people. Many who are not paying attention to their surroundings. Safety hazard for you and everyone around you. Not to mention there are plenty of designated trails on property. They are the appropriate venue. Please do not do this.
