but remember, disney only pays CP's $1/hr- the other 5 are paid by the government.

I did not know that.... I think its only a matter of time before Disney starts layoffs.

I wouldn't count on layoffs happening. The company is rebounding... very slowly... but surely. Attendance is slowly going up (and that doesn't mean just on the weekends when all the annual passholders go), stock prices are heading back up, etc. Also, as it is, the rumors that there are NO part time cast members working is *not true*. I know many who are working. This is not true of everyone, but there are part-timers are working, and they working more every week. Of course, anything is possible, but it looks like things are getting better, not worse.

I'm sorry to hear about your hours reduction. I suppose it all depends on your work location. Good luck with the 2nd job hunt, and I hope things get better for you as far as hours over there in entertainment soon. Things will be okay.

Disney $1 an Hour...Hmmm

Actually if you think about the post on Disney only pay's it's cast members $1 an hour and the government pays the rest.

Isn't that still Disney, considering it was granted Municipality by Florida Legislature when it first opened.

The 'government' that is being referred to in the "Disney only pays $1/hour" rumor is either the state or federal government, not the local improvement district government.

I read somewhere that attendance is picking up again. Have you noticed that?

I talked to a contact Directly at Disney World, who told me that attendance has picked dramatically up. He also said the park is no where near capacity but they hope to be there soon.
