I'm watching Jim Gaffigan's Mr. Universe (he's a comedian for those who don't know) and he's makiing fun of Disney and I'm just dying laughing!

He talks about waiting an hour in line for Dumbo and expecting a mirror at the end because you'd have to be a Dumbo to wait in the line.

and wonders how Disney comes up with rides - "Let's drive a bumper car into a dark room with a picture of Winnie-the-pooh...people will wait an hour for that, right?" or "Let's just hollow out a log and shove them over a waterfall...heck we have their money already, what do we care"

sorry if this should be chit-chat or moved somewhere else but if you haven't seen it it's pretty funny and it is on Netflix :D

^ That's funny, considering Chris Rock most certainly shoveled out the money to be escorted around WDW as a VIP and I'm sure was treated like royalty.

And Jim's jokes are seriously hacky. HURF DURF ITS A LOG RIDE LOLOL and Disney totally came up with the "log flume" idea!

I hate stand up comedians. I'm not against them using WDW in their material, but there's a lot more you can do than take cheap shots that don't even make any sense - like, sure, this MIGHT sound believable (to someone who has never been there)!

What a coincidence-- my husband just showed it to me last night. It is very funny!

I was watching one of the late night talk shows awhile back (cannot remember if it was Leno, Letterman, or Conan). Anyhow, Adam Sandler was one of the guests. Adam was telling a story about how he and his family were once at (DL, MK)? and were in line for HM. Adam & his family had visited the park as normal folks, not demanding the VIP treatment, and were waiting in line like everybody else (or "real people") as he described it. Park security had spotted him, confronted him & said he did not need to wait in line, and ushered him & his family to the front. This seemed to offend Adam, as he just wanted to be one of the folks, not a celebrity for a day, and visit the park as a normal person. Security told him it was for his safety, and to avoid large crowd gatherings, etc.

I love to watch comedianes and enjoy when they bring WDW into it. It is all in jest and a lot of fun.
Used to be a blast at the Comedy Club to hear performers include Disney jokes into their routines. Here they are ripping into their employer and making fun of us who are paying their salaries, and we are laughing along with them. We all need to have more fun and laugh with life.

Wow, that's actually really interesting. In a way, I kinda like Adam Sandler as a person a little more than I did before now. :)

When I worked at Disneyland, I spotted Adam Sandler with his family once. He was wearing his daughter's princess hat, and it was so funny! He's pretty humble compared to some of the other celebs I came across at the park (*cough, cough* Christina Aguilera).

He is one of the funniest...I was watching that and when he said "There are people who go to Disney World who don't have kids. They're called weirdos." I was like That's Me! HAHA:D

You want to hear something funny..Listen to John Pinnette Talk about Disney World in August... <--- I made it as a link..Just to note there is a bit of language..

This one is great and so true. As much as I love Disney I'm sure people have felt like this in August. I feel like anyone who goes in August is insane. The heat and humidity is awful. I already said I would never go in the summer again after enjoying a great January vacation. I'll take some down rides and construction any day for an actual relaxing Disney vacation.

Just being a rude meanie. I was working Snow White load and her mine cart came up and I didn't even recognize her because she had disguised herself pretty darn well. I said hi to the guest, as I usually did and I didn't hear a peep from her, so I just sent her into the ride. My unload called me and told me it was Ms. Aguilera. I didn't really care after that. Later on during the night I struck up a conversation with a friend who had been working Peter Pan and she told me she gave her an attitude when she was trying to get her on the ship. Ugh.

I heard another story about Christina when she was dining at Club 33. Once again, being a rude customer. Whatever, I guess. She was the only rude celebrity guest I came across. All the other celebs were great and very humble and nice.

In the '90s I was there on a trip that happened to overlap with Princess Diana (and family). We only had two small brushes with inconvenience:
1. Monorails sometimes were run empty AND they didn't allow any 'front' riders, we were told both were security issues.
2. Country Bear Jamboree was closed for 2-plus hours. We were told it was being used by VIP's and would be reopened later.

(Both of these were just communicated to us by Cast Members. I know it's not the end-all-be-all, but it was enough for us.)

We love Jim Gaffigan and gathered around the TV to watch this routine. Funny stuff. The Disney parts are early in the special. He says something about how some of the rides were designed in the 1960s, such as "it's a small world", and it's interesting to see what people considered entertaining back then. Ha!

Me too. Its awesome when celebrities don't want (or at least try not to get) special treatment.

Sorry, it just comes across as cheap shots to me. He is taking the easiest target rides. it's a small world. How original and clever! Lets see them make a joke out of Tower of Terror? Oh, no, they conveniently ignore the awesome things about WDW and take cheap shots and it helps perpetuate the notion to people that haven't been there that its just a big kiddie park with cheesy rides and nothing more.

I watched the special a few weeks ago and as a whole it was very funny. I can't remember all of the Disney jokes but I do remember laughing at some and not at others. I remember that segment being if I thought it was true it was a funny joke, but there were some parts of it that I thought just weren't true. I do remember thinking the Splash Mountain joke wasn't funny because he really oversimplified the ride. I'm going to have to watch that part again because I remember having more clear thoughts about it after first seeing it that I just don't have right now.
