Trip Report JenniferS was live! 9/6/17 - 9/16/17

This will be my fourth live trip report in a year, and after NYC last week, I thought Hubby had reached his limit, but he says, "No, go ahead, do a live trip report. It lets me control the tv while you talk to your friends." (As we meet more of my WDWDisney friends, he uses finger quotes around "friends" less and less.)

So, here we go, another live trip report. I really don't have the will to do a post trip report, so it's "live" or nothing. Once I'm out of the bubble, I'm out.

Introductions.

That would be me, Jennifer, on the left. Big Disney fan, big Blue Jays fan, big Hubby fan. Ace, in the middle - although he will always be BJ Birdie to me. Hubby, Mike, on the right. Although Mike is the one who first introduced me to Disney in 1991, it's not really his thing. He goes with me most years to make me happy. And also for the food.

As with our past three trips, we will be spending 11 days, 10 nights at Coronado Springs Resort. We booked a BounceBack offer before checking out last year, before knowing how much construction would be going on. Oh well, it is what it is. And what it is, is my favourite resort in my Happy Place; so it's all good.

We have a Preferred King room booked, which means Casitas 1, 2, or 3. Nonetheless, I think I will be sending in a room preference fax tomorrow asking for a refurbed King room in either 7A or 8A. I'll be happy either way. I am ridiculously easy to please whilst in WDW.

Yes, I am one of those Free Dining parasites. By booking the BB offer last year, we are actually getting the full DDP for free, instead of having to upgrade from QDP. I put great thought and effort into our ADR's. Mike is a big guy and eats a lot. The heat and humidity really kills my appetite, so Mike eats at least half of my meals too. (I've recently packed on 20 pounds, so that may be a good thing.)

Next up, our somewhat loosey goosey itinerary.

As of this moment, I believe we are under curfew until 5:00 pm. This may change as things progress throughout the day.

I went out on our walkway and walked the length of the 9 or 10 rooms on this stretch. I'm not sure if that was allowed or not.

It is not raining, but is still very windy. These are the usual shots I've been taking:

Zoomed in on the bent tree.

That crane moved around quite a bit last night.

According to WESH news, half of the city is without hydro, and there is extensive flooding.

Irma has been downgraded to a tropical storm, which means gusts are 73 mph or less. Tropical storm warnings remain in effect.

With electric blanket?
No, but at home though. Apparently the boys had to turn on the furnace. Yikes.

I saw on FB that a lot of folks had turned theirs on, so I texted the boys and suggested they do likewise. Ski answered - ye, hours ahead of ya.

(I hate "ye". It is not a contraction of "yes", it's an Old English second-person pronoun!)

I forgot to mention this the other day - with losing two ADR's and paying OOP for n'Ohana, we are now left with extra TS credits. I ended up picking up Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch on Wednesday. (Hello Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake, you beautiful thing you!), and a lunch ADR minutes ago for Sci Fi on Friday. That will just be for shakes though. I saw on FB that the new flavour is Cake Batter. Yummmmmm.

It's not easy to replicate my "café mocha" in the room, but where there's a will, there a way. (It also helps if you had the foresight to snag a hot cocoa mix and some creamers the night before. :joyfull:)

Curfew has not been lifted, but there are quite a few people walking around the grounds. Once they declare it safe, I would like to get out and walk around. There are not a lot of sitting positions in a room consisting of a desk and chair and a king sized bed. Please don't think I'm complaining, but my back is barking.

I'd imagine some fresh air will feel good as well. Is it sunny out today?

Not our car underneath that branch. We're the black Sentra straight ahead.

This happens at work all the time. Sometimes it's even because of wind.

I'm glad I got pics of these beauties the other day.

All in all, not a disaster. Not here anyway.

Mike is coming back for this.

They do. But only for days that end in "y".

Ski asked me to pick up this for Gen. I will, but I think I'll give it to her for Christmas myself.

It's not my doing, I swear. He puts on the hats. I just document it.

At Pepper Market sipping a Coke Zero with a splash of Cherry Coke, admiring my new string bag. It's got pockets. For my glasses! It is such a hassle swapping between sunglasses and clear specs dozens of times a day. A special easy-access zip pocket may help.
