Trip Report JenniferS was live! 9/6/17 - 9/16/17

This will be my fourth live trip report in a year, and after NYC last week, I thought Hubby had reached his limit, but he says, "No, go ahead, do a live trip report. It lets me control the tv while you talk to your friends." (As we meet more of my WDWDisney friends, he uses finger quotes around "friends" less and less.)

So, here we go, another live trip report. I really don't have the will to do a post trip report, so it's "live" or nothing. Once I'm out of the bubble, I'm out.

Introductions.

That would be me, Jennifer, on the left. Big Disney fan, big Blue Jays fan, big Hubby fan. Ace, in the middle - although he will always be BJ Birdie to me. Hubby, Mike, on the right. Although Mike is the one who first introduced me to Disney in 1991, it's not really his thing. He goes with me most years to make me happy. And also for the food.

As with our past three trips, we will be spending 11 days, 10 nights at Coronado Springs Resort. We booked a BounceBack offer before checking out last year, before knowing how much construction would be going on. Oh well, it is what it is. And what it is, is my favourite resort in my Happy Place; so it's all good.

We have a Preferred King room booked, which means Casitas 1, 2, or 3. Nonetheless, I think I will be sending in a room preference fax tomorrow asking for a refurbed King room in either 7A or 8A. I'll be happy either way. I am ridiculously easy to please whilst in WDW.

Yes, I am one of those Free Dining parasites. By booking the BB offer last year, we are actually getting the full DDP for free, instead of having to upgrade from QDP. I put great thought and effort into our ADR's. Mike is a big guy and eats a lot. The heat and humidity really kills my appetite, so Mike eats at least half of my meals too. (I've recently packed on 20 pounds, so that may be a good thing.)

Next up, our somewhat loosey goosey itinerary.

Could not believe the number of dogs at the Poly tonight. I approached a CM, and said, "Can I ask you a question, and if it's none of my business, just say so ... but what's with all the dogs?"

He answered that they were all "service dogs".

"Really, all of them?"

He rolled his eyes and said, "Yes, according to the Amazon site that sells those vests they are."

Hmmmmmm. :cautious:

I read on another site last night, that after the FL governor urged hotels to accept dogs, that Disney decided to allow evacuees to bring their pets with them although they are not allowed in restaurants, etc. So a lot of people yesterday checked in with their pets, not pretending they are service dogs :)

That makes sense. Perhaps people weren't 100% sure last night, as EVERY dog we saw last night at the Poly was wearing a vest. In the lobby at CSR today, not so much.

Satellite coverage is spotty right now, so the tv keeps freezing. Also wifi is really slow, even after rebooting my phone. (For once, it's not user error.)

With no sound coming from the tv though, the rain sounds nice. For now anyway.

We are thinking of going to Pepper Market shortly for lunch. This may be our last hot meal for 24 hours or so. This means of course, that I'll have to get dressed. :hilarious:

Pick up some extra desserts and take them back to the room for tonight.

I love dogs - but keeps yours to yourself - especially in a public place. And I find dogs around where they are serving food particularly offensive.
Yes, this is pretty much my view! I was in a pizza place once, and granted it was casual, but a guy came in with his big black lab something mix and the dog came right up to our table and stuck his nose right over my plate and sniffed my pizza. Dude, if you insist on bringing your dog into a restaurant, which is gross to begin with, the LEAST you can do is keep him away from people's food..I don't want your doggy's drool in my food! So disgusting.

Mike is planning on watching football all day.
I brought three books.

We could get in the car and go somewhere ... but where? And why? Things will get nasty here later this afternoon, and we certainly don't want to be on the road at that time. Also, we don't want to be wasting the gas we have, as we don't know what that situation will be like later.
Oh!! What books, please? I just finished re-reading a couple of favorites and then I just read The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime. It was better than I was expecting. And I'm about to start The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto.

I wasn't expecting to post hot food pics today, but here you go.

Mike got the Texas Bacon Burger (as usual ) with onion strings:

As per my request, he got me the Philly Steak & Cheese. Not the cheese I would have chosen, but it was good anyway. You know it's too early for me to be eating, but I thought I'd better eat half of it. I also ate 4 or 5 of the wedges, which were pretty good.

Unlike last night at the Poly, the mood here is very upbeat. The CM's are going above and beyond, and the guests are being appreciative for the most part.
Staff are determined to stay open until 7:00 when the mandatory lockdown begins.

Those both look delicious. The onion strings especially.

Are those red peppers on your Steak and Cheese? Or do you eat cooked tomatoes, just not raw? I can do cooked ones for the most part, but won't touch raw tomatoes. :depressed: But having never eaten a Philly Steak and Cheese, I don't know what it is supposed to look like, or what's supposed to be on it.

I wouldn't want someone else's dog sniffing my food, but honestly my dog's is fine. She has sniffed, licked and eaten part of my food before and I have continued to eat it. She usually waits until I offer to lick or eat part of my food, but the other morning she sat on the couch next to me as I ate my breakfast and started to lick my fried egg.

Red peppers.

I will also eat cooked or processed tomatoes; just not raw! :hungover:

But that's YOUR dog...that's up to you what you allow your dog to do in regards to you and your own food. But I can't imagine you'd let her approach a stranger and stick her nose in their food. And if your dog licked my food, you'd be buying me new food.
