Trip Report JenniferS was live! 9/6/17 - 9/16/17

This will be my fourth live trip report in a year, and after NYC last week, I thought Hubby had reached his limit, but he says, "No, go ahead, do a live trip report. It lets me control the tv while you talk to your friends." (As we meet more of my WDWDisney friends, he uses finger quotes around "friends" less and less.)

So, here we go, another live trip report. I really don't have the will to do a post trip report, so it's "live" or nothing. Once I'm out of the bubble, I'm out.

Introductions.

That would be me, Jennifer, on the left. Big Disney fan, big Blue Jays fan, big Hubby fan. Ace, in the middle - although he will always be BJ Birdie to me. Hubby, Mike, on the right. Although Mike is the one who first introduced me to Disney in 1991, it's not really his thing. He goes with me most years to make me happy. And also for the food.

As with our past three trips, we will be spending 11 days, 10 nights at Coronado Springs Resort. We booked a BounceBack offer before checking out last year, before knowing how much construction would be going on. Oh well, it is what it is. And what it is, is my favourite resort in my Happy Place; so it's all good.

We have a Preferred King room booked, which means Casitas 1, 2, or 3. Nonetheless, I think I will be sending in a room preference fax tomorrow asking for a refurbed King room in either 7A or 8A. I'll be happy either way. I am ridiculously easy to please whilst in WDW.

Yes, I am one of those Free Dining parasites. By booking the BB offer last year, we are actually getting the full DDP for free, instead of having to upgrade from QDP. I put great thought and effort into our ADR's. Mike is a big guy and eats a lot. The heat and humidity really kills my appetite, so Mike eats at least half of my meals too. (I've recently packed on 20 pounds, so that may be a good thing.)

Next up, our somewhat loosey goosey itinerary.

Here's an interesting turn of events ... 'Ohana just called. Tonight's dinner will be a "buffet".
Standing inside the FoP queue, it was kind of hard to hear her, but some of the foods are different. There's a mahi mahi for instance.

Also, the price has been cut to $20/adult, $10/kid ... or still one Dining Credit. Hmmmm - might just make this an OOP meal instead.

We entered this queue at 2:52 with a 90 minute posted wait. Based on where we are, I'm thinking half of that.

It was Mike's idea to come back to Pandora, as our second scheduled day here at AK was supposed to be Monday.

Good call on going back to pandora.

20 bucks per adult is nothing.

First time around leaving Pandora, we entered into Africa. Some neat shots that don't require a spoiler, as they're actually pics of Africa from a new angle.

From a distance, I thought these were bits of pink fluff somehow stuck in a tree, but nope, legit flowers. Very cool.

From Pandora we headed over to the Safari and literally walked on to a less than 2/3 full safari vehicle.

Our driver was Lauren. I would think that a lot of animals have been put away early in anticipation of the storm, because she started to (and then stopped) point out animals that were clearly not there. The change in script really threw her off.

Side note - there was a mid-20's couple in line behind us. The husband/boyfriend was checking up on the status of Irma and says, "Wow, Cuba is going to be devestated." And she replied, "Good!"
You vile, vile B-word. Yup, some people really do suck.

From EE, we walked over to and right on to Dinosaur. Our Rover was less than 2/3 full.

Shockingly, none of my interior shots of the ride turned out. Dinosaur was closed last year, so it's been two years since we've ridden. Holy cow that ride is dark. Couldn't see a bloody thing. And unlike last night, I was wearing my clear glasses.

4:37, in the car, headed back to the resort. Another pretty gorgeous day. We have dodged the weather for three days straight, but our luck is due to run out. Mike was willing to do NRJ again, but the posted wait was 50 minutes. My back is shot (I'm sure it's related to my hip), so I said no.

Mike insists that y'all know - he was willing, I declined.

Off FoP and in the gift shop by 4:19, so even with technical difficulties - still less than 90 minutes.

Take care of the park for us.

Back at the resort. Mike went to fetch coffee, thus making the score 3 to 3.

None of this looked like this yesterday.

Looks like these ladies are preparing to stay the night.

The wind is starting to pick up, and the water in the lake outside our door (we're on the second floor thankfully) is really choppy.

Let's end on a happy note, 'cause this ship is about to get real.
