Trip Report JenniferS is live - 9/3 - 9/16

Technically this is a pre-trip report, but we’ll be going live in less than a week!

This will be my third live September trip report.

It’s going to be a lot of same old/same old, as the cast, location, and ADR’s are pretty much the same. What can I say - we like what we like. And what we like is each other, Walt Disney World, Coronado Springs, and Free Disney Dining.

First, the who.
Me, JenniferS - Uber planning, pixie dust snorting Disney-aholic, 51 year old kid at heart (despite what the mirror says).

This is Hubby. He likes the Tar Heels, the Blue Jays, food, beer, and me. Not necessarily in that order.
The words most often heard coming out of his mouth are “Whatever you want, Baby.”

This is us. We are adorable together. We’re each other’s ride or die.

Last year, we were celebrating my 50th birthday (as much as women celebrate these “milestones”).

This year, we are celebrating Mike’s 50th (both of us born in August, so it’s close enough to count) AND our 25th wedding anniversary earlier this year.

We have children, but we don’t bring them to Disney very often anymore. If they decide to get married and start giving us grand-babies, I will re-visit this decision. But for now, they stay home. We are on Jen and Mike time.

After two live trip reports, I’m not sure how wordy this report will be, but it will be heavy on pics, most especially of food! As Mike says - I’m only here for the food.

To be continued ....

I’ll wrap up the DestiNations Discovered tour and country pics individually later. I took quite a few pics, and I’m really tired today, for some reason. 😂. Suffice it to say that we both really enjoyed the tour, and we had a fabulous tour guide, Diogo (not a typo).

Our tour came with a bonus FP for Soarin’, which ended up being our only ride at Epcot all day. We were going to do the Ball before we left, but the SB wait was 25 minutes and we were running out of time. Oh well, next year.

But first, lunch.
Our tour also came with lunch at the Rose & Crown.

Scotch egg. Very good.

Mike got the fish and chips.

I got bangers and mash, as one would expect.
The potatoes and gravy were really good, but the sausage was really salty. I had a few bites of everything, but let Mike have more than half.

We split a sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Mike didn’t want any, so I ate it all. I guess we didn’t split it after all.

It was really good, but the flavour profile was very close to the sticky toffee pudding I’d had less than an hour earlier, so I may not have enjoyed it as much as I otherwise would have.

We got back to our room at 3:30. We caught up with the hurricane until 3:40, and then I set my alarm for 4:00. As my dad would say, I “rested my eyes” for exactly 20 minutes.

I showered and did the bulk of our packing before we headed out to DHS. Our friend Eric met us there and spent the evening with us. We also exchanged quick hellos with @Lucky in TSL - something I had very much been looking forward to. It’s official, so far out of all of my Disney friends that we have met, @Monty remains the only one with no discernible accent. 😉

We had FP’s for RnRC, but my hip is done. I would never have been able to get into the car. We went to Launch Bay instead.

Dinner was at ABC Commissary.

Mike got the ribs. He said he chose wrong.

Lucky for him I chose right, and I was willing to share.

I also had the frozen strawberry lemonade slushie. It was so good, but four sips in I had my usual chest freeze “heart attack”. Not a lot of sympathy was forthcoming from the boys. Just saying.

Eric got the land and sea platter.

Dessert was split three ways. More than half was leftover.

After dinner, Mike and I were finally able to ride SDD. This is a great little coaster. Lots of fun. We also got to ride it after dark, which made it a lot better, I should think.

A$$ stand-by said 10 mins, so we decided to ride before the fireworks. Zero chance that all three of us would fit in the same vehicle, so we went as two separate groups. Mike by himself; Eric and I in another vehicle.

We watched Star Wars fireworks, did a little shopping, and then walked through the maze that is the DHS entrance right now. It was just as easy to walk back to our cars, so that’s what we did.

Not too many flights of stairs today, but these are the most steps all trip.

We have to get up at 8:30 am tomorrow to finish packing, load the car, and get to the Poly before 11:00.

After breakfast we’ll take the monorail into MK, where we have a few FP’s booked.

Sadly, we have to bid farewell to Eric mid-afternoon (until next year) and then check into our new hotel on 192. Dinner is at Narcoossee’s, as this has become our usual last dinner in the World. (I’m getting the lobster. You can take that to the bank!)

I was finally able to procure an earlier time, so we should be able to see HEA from the restaurant.

After that, it’s back to the Ramada to sleep, before heading to the airport in the morning.

I can barely keep my eyes open, so this is good night. Catch y’all in the morning.

Really enjoyed your report. All these great reports are getting me more excited for our November trip. Only problem is I keep seeing more and more things we want to do. How am I going to manage to pack it all into 10 days:joyfull:

I blew a goodbye kiss to our room on the way out. I am such a nerd!

Coronado Preferred King room booked for next year. 9/3/19 - 9/13/19. Be there or be square.

Off to brekkie with Lilo and Stitch now. Running a smidge later than I would like, but not actually running late per se. I haven’t had coffee yet, just saying.
