Hi! My daughter desperately wants to do the Jedi training academy. We have never been during a SW weekend so we have no idea how to do this. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. We will be there June 7, 8, 9. Thanks!
No Way!!!! Billy D is going to be there!!!! Holy moly! Will he be there all weekend? Or just on one day? Thanks so much!Sign up before you do anything else!!!!!!!! No I'm not kidding the spots book quickly especially durring SWW!!!!!!!! Be at the park well before rope drop as it will be a little busy as Billy D Williams will be there! Some of us are lining up around midnight! But those of us who do are doing so for autographs!
Thank you! So I should just assume they are opening early and show up around 7?As stated before you will want to be at the park before opening. Last year, DHS officially opened at 8 am during SWW, but the were actually opening around 7:30-7:45. As soon as you get in head straight to wherever they are doing the sign ups. This is typically the old Sounds Dangerous building. You MUST have your child with you when signing up, no exceptions.
Thank you! That is so cute. I hope we get Vader. She would be so happy!they loan the jedi robe and lightsaber so no need to purchase one unless you want the one with mickeymouse ears that my son got. Some kids go onto the stage with Darth Vader and some go against Darth Maul. We ended up with Darth Maul. Oh and if you bring your own lightsaber they insist that you use the one that they provide for the academy.

Thank you! We will!Agree with @figmentfan423 and @Master Yoda, go early...the earlier the better. If opening time says 8:00 am, there is a real good chance of opening earlier. When I worked at TDS, our unwritten rule was to have the 'gates' open and 'stage' ready at least 10 minutes before opening.
I never said she was inexperienced. She is the best light saber-wielding 9 year old girl I know. She practices all the time in our living room. As a matter of fact, I heard Vader is scared of her!ARE YOU CRAZY!?! Putting your child up there, face to face, with Darth Maul...and Darth Vader!?! Didn't you see the Star Wars movies? There have been hundreds upon hundreds of TRAINED, EXPERIENCED warriors who have suffered severed arms (see Luke Skywalker), and even worse...death! At the hands of a light saber, and you want to put your inexperienced child up there against the best in the universe? If your child is not a Jedi, like his father, then I say NO WAY! Unless you want to totally ruin your vacation and go home with one less family member!![]()
Correct. I would check the times and reports as it gets closer.Thank you! So I should just assume they are opening early and show up around 7?
They do it every day of the week all year long.Do they do the Academy every weekend now? Or is it just during SWW?
Every day? Really? Oh! We will be in the parks June 3 - 11. I thought it had to be a Friday, Sat or Sun. What day would be better?Correct. I would check the times and reports as it gets closer.
They do it every day of the week all year long.
GET THAT POOR KID OUT OF THERE!!!!!! What are you people thinking!?!they loan the jedi robe and lightsaber so no need to purchase one unless you want the one with mickeymouse ears that my son got. Some kids go onto the stage with Darth Vader and some go against Darth Maul. We ended up with Darth Maul.
