jeans or shorts?

 It has been in the 80s down in Orlando for a long time. we always pack both in case we go out at night and get cold or something, plus light jackets for early morning or evening. Better to have too much than have to buy expensive clothes somewhere. have a magical trip.

Being from the northeast, I say shorts. I wear shorts at Disney even when it's in the 60's and cold at night. It's not Disney for me if I have to wear jeans.

Shorts without a doubt. However, feel free to bring a fleece or sweater or something to cover your arms in case you get chilled in the evening. Though the temp may be warm, after walking around in the sun all day, you can feel cooler then it is once the sun goes down. (Which, for the record, isn't until like 8:30pm at the moment.)

I always get a locker and stuff things like that into it so I have it in case I need it. $5* for a locker is a lot cheaper then $50 for a sweater if you end up feeling cold!

*Note: Lockers are $7 but you get back $2 when you return the key at the end of the night.

I'll jump in here and say it depends... what do you normally wear in the summer time? (b/c the south is having some wonderfully summer weather right now) - I for one wear jeans year round... so I'm packing both (i'll be there in 2 weeks!) Just go by your comfort mode...

I live at about the same lattitude of WDW and I've worn shorts everyday since the end of March. Maybe one pair of pants for evenings or restaraunts, but I would stick with shorts.

For the journey I wear the cargo trousers with zip off bottoms - keeps me warm in the UK and on the plane then as soon as I'm in the heat, off zip the long legs :D

In the past I've worn long, lightweight pants while departing the UK and for the flight. However, just prior to the planes final approach / descent (before the seat belt signs) I change into shorts from my hand luggage.

One of my favourite funny images is from an early trip to Disney where the plane landed in Newfoundland for refuelling. It was there for an hour, so people were allowed off the plane for a break.

So, you had a plane full of pale Britons in shorts and thin t-shirts ready for Florida (plus a few like myself in Jeans, sweatshirt and coat who had thought ahead).

The plane lands on a runway with piles of snow on either side and the only way to the terminal is to walk down the steps and make the journey of a few hundred yards under your own steam. There were a small number of us enjoying the bracing air and a couple of hundred shivering wretches running at top speed before they turned completely blue

When we flew back to RI last February, my husband insisted he was wearing his shorts home, refusing to give in to the fact that we were returning to winter at 10PM. As soon as he heard it was snowing at home, he had a change of heart, but not everyone on our flight did!

BTW, leave the jeans at home, and pack a pair of zip-offs if you really have any doubts!

That's a chance not worth taking at this time of year.

How much room does a pair of jeans take up???
Throw in a sweatshirt while you're at it, so you don't have to spend $50 on one when you get cold at night.

Seriously...better safe then sorry!

HAVE FUN!

Bring both. You never know if it will be beautiful during the day, and a little on the chilly side at night.

You stole my thunder. I just got back from Orlando the day before yesterday. The days were beautiful in the mid to upper 70s to 80 or so. The evenings i found on the cool side and quite windy. I didn't do jeans, but dockers and a windbreaker were good at night.

Instead of jeans, pack a pair of thin cotton pants, like cheap chinos. They weigh a lot less and are guaranteed to never be too hot down there (Florida, that is:p).
I've roasted in jeans. Also, if you happen to go on any water rides, the cheap chinos will dry much faster.
