Jazz or Calypso?

Hello all! New to posting stuff so sorry if not totally professional:animwink:. I am trying to decide what would be the best Music building to choose (knowing that when we get there may not have a choice:rolleyes:). A little background - we (me & wifey, and kids -16, 13, 9 and 18 month old) are staying in a family suite in the All Star Music Resort. I think the older ones would love to be close to the main pool, plus we would be closer to buses etc., (for the late sleepers:snore:) , but I've also heard stories of it (Calypso) being WAY loud if the baby needs mid-day (2PM -ish) nap. Is this true:shrug:? Or am I fretting over trivial stuff? I humbly ask the panel's opinions:lookaroun. Thank you!

We syed at Calypsso the last 2 Dec trips in the suites first time top floor second 3rd floor facing the pool and NEVER heard a thing not even people walking past our room. No stomping etc. When are you going? We loved it there and you will too with the kids and the extr beds and the fact that there is a real living room instead of coming in and sitting on beds. 2 TVS also and 2 full baths you picked a great choice. We took the ottoman and put it along the wall next to the armoire and moved the table and chairs in front of the window. That way we could leave that twin bed made out all the time and the maid would just make it and put a towel animal every day on it. The kids will all have their own beds and the little one in a crib in your room will be perfect and the space to do it in. We took the chair out of the bedroom and put it in the living room for more seating. You will love it.. 2 safes as well. I wouldn't pick the bottom floor if you can, and do go for pool side. You have younger kids and this is a great view instead of parking lots and gardens.

Thanks for the welcome:)! We're going Aug 16th-22nd. This will be the first time we're staying on Disney property actually:sohappy:,(been to the most of the World b/4 except AK) and knowing how the weather tends to be during that time:eek: ( was Orlando resident many moons ago) wanted to be able to get back to hotel in a reasonable amount of time. Already changed the request once from Calypso to Jazz, now wondering if I should go back:confused:.

We stayed in the Jazz section number 9 in June 2009 in a family suite. We loved it. It was ground floor level and it was in between 2 pools. It was really quiet and we did not have any issues at all. I would stay in this area again. The family suites are awesome. Very very roomy. The main pool is really really fun.

First off, I think you and the Family are going to be very happy at Music!!! We stayed there in 2007 and were plesantly surprised at how much we enjoyed the resort. We actually stay in Jazz and were located just a little bit passed the main pool. I would say it was about a 3 minute walk to the food court and buses. Loved the location as it was quite and centrally located. The family suites in Calypso are right by the pool, so I am sure it can be pretty loud. The resort also shows movies poolside at night and does fun games during the day and I believe there was a DJ and music as well. So my vote would be for Jazz, especially if noise is a concern. Good Luck and Enjoy!!!

We stayed in the Calypso family suites last year and loved it. I wish we could do the same this year. It wasn't loud at all but we went during a quiet time of the year. We stayed on the ground floor. So nice not to have to climb stairs. It was close to the Lobby, the restaurant, and to the bus stop. I would definitely pick the Calypso again.

We stayed in the Jazz Inn on the very end furthest from the main building, third floor. You could walk out of our suite and over-look the piano pool. It was very quiet in the room, never heard either pool activities. You will love, love, love the suites. We really enjoyed taking our breakfast items and dining in the suite for breakfast and having that first cup of coffee prior to interacting with the rest of the general public. It was relaxing and refreshing. Oh, check out the nightly movie at the main pool. They also usually have some kind of activity started with a Wii system prior to the movie. We really enjoyed this resort and will be back Sept 19 - 21:sohappy:

Thanks all for the great feedback :sohappy:! I think we'll be going with the Calypso for now but it seems like either one would be fun. Just looking forward to being there with the Fam:cool:.
