Radio Script

Yes, I love the radio tower with Chester and Hester as the hosts idea. It creates a friendly sense of magic in to accompany the horrifying adventures to be found next door on DINOSAUR!

I'm really good at writing things, would you mind if I provided us with a script and some rewritten songs for Chester and Hester to go over? I think it would add an extra touch of detail to the land.

I have to head over to rehearsal for a musical I'm in, but I'll be back on the boards this evening...would anyone be interested in finding some way for us to use a chat room or even exchange AIM names? It might make the process smoother, as we could all chime in in real time.

Also, ManEating, I love the thought of providing some lyrics, go for it! Would you mind if I also tried my hand at coming up with one or two? It just seems like fun. What would also be great would be if we had some scripted jokes/interactions for Hester and Chester. Also, maybe some radio ads for the rides!

Man, for a land I dislike the theme of, this is actually making me kind of excited for it, ahh if only it were going to really be in the park.

I'll try and come up with parts of the script such as the ads and general banter because everyone else seems to be doing something and I want to be part of the final presentation.

I don't think we need the whole loop. Just enough to give an idea.

Songs

I have musical rehearsal today as well so I'll be cruising in the evening as well. Also I live in a different time zone then most of you (Southern California) so that may create some more conflict.

For the radio script I'd like to come up with some speaking parts for Hester and Chester, some news broadcasts, songs with revised lyrics, and a bunch of other things like that.

Also I found some songs that can be played but don't need changed lyrics:

1. Walk the Dinosaur
2...:lookaroun

Actually I can't think of any others, most dinosaur songs are written for little kids. There should be others out there that I'm unaware of. Anyone know of songs like this related to dinosaurs?

I would use the Jurassic Park theme but unfortunately we all know who owns the rights to Jurassic Park and all of its related attractions. Perhaps the Primeval World music from the Disneyland Railroad.

I looked up dinosaur songs on iTunes and Google and there really aren't that many. The top hit was a song by Kesha called Dinosaur. Umm, the Godzilla soundtrack, if there is one? Actually something from The Flintstones theme might work.

And I'm lost on parodies of current artists: Lady Rah Rah (dinosaur noise) and DinoSuBo (can you tell I'm scraping the barrel) :veryconfu:hammer:

I think I might leave this section to MEW!

Yeah I'd really love to do the music and script for the radio broadcast.

I would actually use the Flintstones theme but unfortunately Islands of Adventure has that as well in the Toon Lagoon area.

I guess "Walk the Dinosaur" is really the only other dinosaur song that's really appropriate for Dinoland, U.S.A. It was even the song they played for Dinoland in the Animal Kingdom sing along songs tape. I think it was called "Flik's Musical Adventure" or something like that.

I guess something from Godzilla would be good. There's a somewhat old song entitled "Peco and Sebulbida" (Or something like that) that sings about La Brea Tar Pits. Perhaps that could work judging by the fact La Brea Tar Pits used to be inhabited by prehistoric creatures, even if they were humongous and primitive mammals. Other songs that could have altered lyrics could be "That Old Black Magic," "I've Grown Accustomed to Your Face," "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," and a bunch of other songs like that. The "Ugly Song" from the Muppet Show could work:

PS, the theme from the TV show Dinosaurs (1993?, The Jim Henson Company) could work, as well, if there is a theme song.

That would be nice. Do you want to wait for Jasonflz's input first,or just go with it? From my understanding we'll be together for a while,so we could use it all the time.

Also we're meant to PM Mater with our team name before we post the actual project and we haven't actually come to an agreement yet. So far it looks like Goofy's Brainstormers is most popular, any objections to this? I'll wait for jasonflz to see what he thinks/

Wow! i need to be back on the site more often lol. I'm gone afor a bit, and we have a crazy amount of ideas, that all look great by the way.

The Tower of dino bones really fits what i was thinking for a structure. I always look back to the tower of the four winds as an axcellent weenie (I mentioned it before, but in case you've never seen or heard of it:

Anyway, it was this amazing moving kinetic sculpture. But I love this radio tower idea, it jsut seems to fit in as if it always was there before.

As mentioned before, it could have been a Dino institute tower, possibly meant to provide some entertainment music for the teams on dig site, or maybe send out news, atc. actually, the dino institute is meant to be a school, it could have been teh student radio station? or maybe the students took it over and added their humor (as evidenced thru the land)

I love the idea of C&H taking it over to play dino music. it adds another event in the story of the fight between the two, and helps to give a story to the new, overly tall noticeable building in the land, and pushes the story.

and wow... all just preschool songs. (however, we could have a few, as if C&H are poking fun at the institute, or maybe just to appeal to the overly young group there)

I like adding jingles for the park attractions, maybe some small news lines about activity in the field (dino hunts?) or even sometimes in the crowd action (where a dj from the station goes into the crowd, get activity going (kind of like the one at Pleasure island)

As for what to do in it, not sure. they have the overly laden souvenir shop next door; anything we'd sell in a shop besides music? how would a walk thru work here?

But anyway, i love the ideas everyone's put forward... i'm liking the overall dino station, with a dino acronym, taken over by C&H, and overly covered with the usual tacky, extravagant decorations and large, in your face billboards, with possibly a hidden DI logo all defaced...

i think we've gotten a great idea going. I'll have to step up to add something!!
