Just a warning for that video, don't watch it with smaller kids in the room. They might get a little freaked out since there are people on the ride when the problem occurs.

Yeah, I suppose a better warning would be the one that you hear news reporters give before certain videos are shown: "These images may be too intense for some viewers. Viewer discretion is advised."

Yep, saw it at Ebaum's World just a few days ago. There's another one with a swing at a Japanese amusement park that collapses, and...don't read this is you are squeamish...gets his head cut off.

How did that happen? Were they trying to evacuate people off of it with a crane, then it unexpectadly started to fall down?

If you think the video is bad, read some of the comments that people posted. I can't believe that there are people out there that would say such callous, mean, and disgusting things about others that were obviously seriously injured. Is that what other boards are like?

I think I'll just hang out here where we have normal threads like restrooms, underwear, and cannabalism.

I can't possibly understand what the people who left those comments are thinking...

It looks like the ride wasn't moving because some sort of failsafe had been tripped and the brakes were locked up, so everyone was in relative safety but still 50 or so feet off the ground. The two men in the crane were trying to unlock the brakes so they could unload the passengers, or were directly unloading passengers into the crane for transfer to the ground. The confusing thing here was that the crane was directly in the path of the ride's motion, and when the ride vehicle did start to move the catwalk/grating above it caught the crane on its way down and destroyed it. No disrespect for anyone injured or worse during the accident but it doesn't look like this rescue attempt was terribly well thought out.

You'd be surprised at what goes on at other forums. This board is definately the cleanest board i've been to. You can't even say p-e-e here. Some forums don't have a single topic that doesn't contain at least 20 f-bombs.
