January 3

It says online that the Holiday Festivities end on January 3. Does this mean that the parks will no longer be decorated on that day, or that that is the last day? I am arriving in Orlando on the 2nd and was planning to go to MK on the 3rd. I'm hoping that the park will still be decorated.

Also, it says that Splash Mountain is closing that same day. Is Disney normally on schedule with refurbs?

My understanding is that is when the process of removing the decorations begins.

We were there 1/10 to 1/14 this year and there were plenty of decorations. But maybe the bad weather delayed the removal.

Yes-I remember! It was crazy to have the Christmas trees up two weeks into the new year.
I think it was too freezing for anyone to go out at night and take the decorations down!

I remember that too! Every day I would think the decorations would be gone but they were still there. It was really cold so they may have been waiting for it to warm up. They kept the Christmas music playing also. :xmas:

It was the marathon this year. I think it was a tad earlier than usual so they left the decorations up until after the logistics of that had died down.
