January 1-7 good time?

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
I'm going mid August. Not much going on then, and it's less likely parents take their kids out of school right when school starts back up. Especially out of state parents.

Good luck and have fun at the races and show off your Mickey medals while in the parks, post race! Where are you going to eat your carb loaded dinner the night before?

We are only doing the 5k and 10k this year, we’re still in Covid shape, but we‘ve done Dopey, another full, and several halfs in the past and always carb load at Port Orleans Riverside, they do a spaghetti special during race weekends and we usually stay at POFQ so it’s a short walk.

In 2017 we managed to get rides on Expedition Everest and Primeval whirl, and cross the marathon finish line with a cocktail in hand… I don’t think I’d ever do a full anywhere but Disney.

I think.this was a one-time deal but DHS had a 10K Tower of Terror race starting at 10pm ending at DHS and runners and the whole park was open until 4am for runners and their families several years ago. Good idea to carb load in the resorts, easier v to get back to your hotel room to rest. I'm sure dining options in Italy at Epcot are packed with runners but they still have to get back to the hotel at a decent time because of a very early wake up call. Race day you may be awake for almost 24 hours!

Do you like runners, lots and lots of runners? Marathon weekend is the 4th through the 8th.
They, (I have been one a number of times), are up at about 2:30am for four days straight.
They will be running through the Studios & EPCOT for a good amount of the morning, even
sometimes into the early afternoon. I would go another week also.

Cheering the runners on is awesome. Call them by name. It’s on their running jersey . I have never seen the local roads packed with so many charter busses, hundreds of them.

Let me know we appreciate the cheers. Some of the signs I have seen still stay with me also. I was just saying there are a lot of us.

hierarchy of lousy times:

tax audit
root canal
WDW first week of Jan
2 hour DMV office visit
overbearing Mother-in-law 6 day visit
3 day power outage in Tempe AZ in July
flat tire without a spare on back country road
step in steaming pile of dog droppings

great times for sure

I am sorry, but I find that time period much more fun than any of those things.
I enjoy taking part in the RunDisney races. Sorry to be in the way!
