Here's the plaque.

The plaque reads, "In 1980, wildlife researcher Jane Goodall observed a wild chimpanzee as it carefully stripped a stick of its leaves and inserted it into a mound to fish for termites.

This discovery that non-humans cold create tools opened a door to a previously unknown world of animal intelligence, and inspired Jane Goodall’s life-long commitment to understanding these complex, amazing primates.

To honor Jane Goodall, this likeness of the chimpanzee she called David Greybeard was created in the Tree of Life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom."

I guess they'll have to add "1924-2025" to the bottom.
That should be 1934-2025. She was 91.

Joe Rohde just posted an incredible collection of thoughts about Jane and the impact she made in the world. It’s very inspiring. It’s on his instagram - take the time to look it up, you’ll be glad you did.

I’d like to point out that it’s connections like these (Jane’s connections to Joe and the Animal Kingdom park) that made me who I am and created my love for Disney parks.

There won’t be another Jane Goodall, Jim Henson, or Walt Disney ever again.
