Jackets/Sweatshirts in cold restaurants

Hi all. Just a quick question. Has anyone noticed lately whether or not you need to bring a sweatshirt or light jacket into the eating establishments to keep from freezing your hiney off? Several of us went to lunch today and ate at a Cheddars, and came out with icicles hanging off our noses. 80 degrees outside and 60 inside. I'll be frequenting several eateries in the World in a week or so and need to determine what to pack, especially for my daughters who get cold when it's 70. Thanks for you help.

Generally speaking, Floridians have always overcompensated for the heat. Many restaurants throughout South Florida can be considered uncomfortably cold because of our hatred of the hot weather outside. Whether or not to take a jacket to WDW is strictly reliant upon your tolerance of cooler temperatures. I for one enjoy the cooler atmosphere for an hour or two, but you and your family may not.

I can tell you in our past visits to the world in July the eateries have been to cold. I know last yr it was so bad in Tony's town square the waiter had brought out clean table clothes out for us to wrap ourselves in. So now we know to pack hoodie jackets in our backpacks, because our family cannot handle cold.

I know what you mean!!! I actually just had this conversation with my mom, we are heading down in 10 days, and I am always so cold when we are eating, but I hate to have to carry around a light sweatshirt all day in the heat!!! I sure hope they are not too cold... 76 would be great!! That's comfortable to me!

I can honestly say I have never felt remotely "cold" in WDW!

Perspective is everything! :lol:

Are they just now figuring out that they can turn up the thermostat? That seems like an obvious cost saving measure. Should have been done a year ago at least.

I can see this saving them thousands and thousands of dollars

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Or are you being serious?

They just spent 4 Billion, that's Billion with a B to buy a bunch of comic books (still not 100% sure what they got). I don't think a few thousand a month is really what they are thinking about here. Bumping the thermostat from 72 to 76 is all about customer comfort with how inexpensive electricity is in central Florida compared to the rest of the country. I'm sure Eisner spent (insert superlative here) amount of man hours to see if the few thousand hey would save in A/C cost would outweigh customer comfort and satisfaction.

My Guess is that with the fall coming and the (relatively) high humidity going away that the "average" guest won't complain about it being 76. I have a feeling that when late spring rolls back around and the humidity returns they will go back to it being 72.

Just mho

Ate at Chefs de France last week and it was hot and muggy inside. Other place were cold as well as some of the bus's. I was able to get my thermostat down to 65 at the Coronado, if I wanted.

Thanks for all your responses guys. Sounds like we will be able to forego the jackets in the eateries. Four degrees makes a big difference.:)
