I'm suprised Disney would be interested in Harry Potter because of its satanic nature. disney is supposed to be a family company and they are going to do a ride all about witches and wizards.

Witches and wizards does not make it satanic. Harry Potter is adventure fantasy.

i know that and you know that, but do all the religious nuts who already have it out for Disney care?
But do we or Disney care about this small group of crazies? The Box Office numbers and books sold should tell you something.

"small groups of crazies" are the only type of people who get attention in this world. If you don't think special interest groups aren't considered important.....well...then.....

Very true but they already have it out for Disney, and are obviously not spending cash with them. And while yes, they make the news, they've been on the news against potter for quite some time.

Another important thing (at least for the US perspective) is Potter is a WB production, they have a running deal with Six Flags for some of their characters, and at leat in the case of Beetlejuice have gone with universal, so I'm not sure they would licence their end to Disney, so without that they would have to do it without using the generaly accepted likeness of Harry Potter.

Chronicals of Narnia has a witch....does that make it a satanic movie?

Two things about this:

1) There have already been religious groups that have boycotted Disney for other reasons and guess what? Disney didn't even blink and the boycotts ended after a few years.

2) With the number of magic users, both good and evil, in Disney movies, along with the number of other supernatural things that are not necessarily magical, who would really care about adding in a few more magic users? I mean, one of their movies this past year was about a living car(Herbie). Their most recognizable Icon, Mickey Mouse, was a "Sorceror's Apprentice" and used magic. So I really don't see that it would be that much of a problem.

WB sold the Six Flags chain years ago. Yes six flags still is allowed to use the characters OWNED BY WB. This includes the DC superheroes such as Batman and Superman as well as the Loony Toons but thats it. The Harry Potter characters are not owned by the WB. I believe this deal involves Rowling and Disney much more than WB.

Yes, I know they don't own Six Flags anymore, however WB still licences characters to them.

And no, they don't own the Harry Potter characters, however to make a harry potter ride/show sucessful, I would imagine they would want to use the the actors and likenesses made popular by WB's movie. And for that they would need WB's ok as well. If it's just to use the characters, and they start from scrach, then yes, Rowling would need be the only one involved

That doesn't sound too far-fetched. In Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, riders went to the pub, stole a car, wrecked and went to hell right along with Toad......;)

I think some people are readding to much into this picture. I think that others are right, she just went to Disney for the frist time & wanted to share a photo with us.

If some one takes a photo of Daniel R. drinking a coke does that mean he is the next spokesmen for coke!

I think she was just happy to go & wanted to share with her fans. I don' tthink Harry will ever come to Disney.

According to certain groups, the use of magic and witchcraft is considered the work of the devil and so therefore anything that has to do with it is considered satanic. Personally, I find that view ridiculous, but then again, I'm pagan myself.:D

They've never read the books, so that's why they keep bringing down those false accusations. Just because its Witch craft, it doesn't men you see Harry and his friends drinking goat blood or dancing naked around a bond fire.

Sadly enough, I'm from one of the towns where Harry Potter was protested when it first came out.

Now it's more widely accepted.:)
