This might be a dumb question to ask, but are there any other charging stations in WDW aside from the ones in Fantasyland?

From a recent news story on this site:

Storybook Circus now becomes the third Magic Kingdom location to offer chargers. The others are in the new Rapunzel restroom area and the gift shop arcade area at the exit of Space Mountain.

How about the other parks?

I think you'd be hard pressed to find an area that -doesn't- have one!! Holy Knights of Columbus, asking $15 for a Mickey balloon is outrageous. And that was just a balloon vendor -charging- station. The shops get even more crazy. But my family and I always spend boat loads of money out of social convention. Social convention and what I believe to be some type of mind altering vapor pumped into the atmosphere once you enter WDW. It's science.

If you are planning to charge phones / cameras, I'd recommend you get one of these...

It works great, and that way you aren't tied down to a charging station while you wait. You can walk around or wait in line for a ride while your phone / camera (anything with a USB charge option) charges up!

My hubby bought us some kind of portable charger off of Amazon. We usually use our phones to take most of our photos so that drains our batteries. I'd hate to waste precious time at a charging station!

i second this idea...i currently have two (couple year old) new trent battery packs I grabbed from amazon....5000mah, i think at the time they were 40-50 bucks but now for that price you are getting 10000mah plus.

its the size of basically your iphone, and can charge it several times over before needing a charge itself. much better than having to carry a charger and sit by a wall jack in a theme park for any length of time.

though, i have to ask..how prevalent is this need? i am a power phone user. when i left the room in the morning mine was fully powered up at 100%. by the time we got in the parks, i barely took time to check the phone-not for my emails, not for the app. honestly i checked the MDE app a few times a day for wait times, but not that much. usually by the time we got back to the room, my phone was still @ 75%. the only day it took a beating was the one day we went to the studios and it was a fire drill getting out of the room, and in the chaos we left the cameras behind. even then, it was still around half charged.

maybe its just my mentality, but i don't plan to bring chargers into the park, or have to even charge/swap batteries in the park. the cameras always have a good battery charge to last a few hundred pictures each, and if need be i top them off at night.

i feel like i am missing something here

Lucky for you, my battery drains extremely fast! Each phone is different and battery life varies depending on how you charge it, how often you use it (and for what), and other settings like the display brightness and having Wi-Fi connected. I use my phone as my camera a lot so it's in a very consistent use throughout the day.

thats probably at least part of where I get stuck....i mean, the iphone battery (i have the 5) has often been ripped for iffy battery life...but i am very smart in terms of turning things off that aren't needed while i am trying to strtch it (bluetooth was off since no headset while away). and i keep my brightness at about half. so it did quite well the one day i needed it for pictures, but i would not rely on a camera phone for my sole camera for a trip. i was actually amazed (and sometimes annoyed) at the use of non-cameras for cameras at disney.

not so much the phones, because they are roughly the same form factor of a point and shoot or even a small mirrorless kit. but i saw so many people using ipads and other tablets as their main memory-capturing device, it was driving me nuts.

first--the cameras in these devices are generally not as good as a true camera-yes, they've come a long long way, but i'd still opt for the real camera. 2nd, (tablet users in my crosshairs) do you know how annoying it is to be behind someone using an 8.5 x 11 inch device to capture what's happening in front of you? we were 2nd row @ FOTLK, and three of the folks in front of us (three, from the same travel party!) all were using iPads to record video. its pretty hard to see around that at times.

phone v camera i can't gripe as much about (size/weight being pretty even). just to me, sensor and optics are usually better on the real camera. but an ipad instead of a real camera? no thanks

why would anyone even want to lug most tablets around a theme park all day?

Don't get me wrong, we don't solely use our phones for pictures, just to quickly capture moments, when we pose for family photos or go for something more picturesque we pull out the real camera.

The tablet thing is a bit weird, you're right, I don't know why anyone would want to lug them around.
I try to carry as little as possible, even the tiny tablets are a nuisance to bring out and about.

totally agree. happy to see the phone cameras be more worth it. obviously, for quickies or sharing, its easy. i actually cant gripe on them...my stand alone little video camera (a kodak, size of a flip) was buried somewhere but i had access to, and used the phone for video when my sons got to talk with crush, and also when my one son was used as part of the Monsters Inc show.

haha....DW has found a secret electrical outlet in each of the lands, she doesn't share them with me, I only know where the one is in Tomorrowland, it is in the dining area of the Tomorrowland Terrace.
