.. and had no idea there was a boat ride in "The Land" until today! D'oh
Although from the videos it doesn't look the most enthralling of attractions

It certainly isn't a thrill ride, but it's educational and quite interesting. Nice break in an otherwise hectic day.

Watching martinsvids on The Land I can certainly see why they replaced the cast members with pre recorded audio. The cast member on the video just didn't care at all for what he was saying haha

You know, going 6 months prego was one of the best things because it forced us to examine Disney in a whole new way and explore other parts.

It's been a recording for over 3 years now. I was hired in to the land in 2007 and they had stopped spieling 6 months beforehand. :( Since Soarin' opened it became the stepchild attraction of the pavilion, which is sad considering it is the only attraction at Epcot that is essentially the same since the park opened. (Except for the name change and Spielers on the boats) I love that boat ride, make fun of the boat ride, but I am also very protective of it as it was my first attraction. So be nice y'all!

Even though I already knew it, it still made me very sad to read it just now. All I can do is shake my head; how did they mess up Future World so badly, so quickly?

Yeah, up until 2005, Living with the Land was the headliner of The Land pavilion... I can't believe people (especially Disney fans with multiple trips under their belt) could not know that it was there...

To me, that's like going to the Studios and not knowing there was a ride inside the Chinese Theater...

Awww, while Living with the Land may not be a thrill ride, it's still a very cool, quality old-school EPCOT attraction.

Of course, I'm biased--I used to help grow the plants.

I really, really miss the live spielers. While not all of them may have been spectacular, many really cared about the attraction and added a lot to the experience. It was also easier on the ears than the exact same thing in exactly the same voice every 30 seconds.

That's unfortunate that the video a pp spoke of did not show a good CM doing the boat ride. We always had great narrators who really seemed to love the attraction. It was always a must do for us at Epcot. I was also sad to hear that the Livin with the Land song is no longer used. It stayed in my head all day the same way the music does from CoP in MK. I guess at least the ride is still there and it's the same basic concept.

I never miss this attraction. It's a nice relaxing ride after standing in line , sometimes for an hour , for Soarin. You rarely have to wait to get on it.
I love the greenhouse. If I could only have a set up like that in my garden!

I could swear it was played when we went in 98. And as you can see from my signature- it's been a while since we've been. It still doesnt change the fact that it was a great song that quite a few people miss.

I miss the speils as well.

Two other things:

- last time we rode this (June 2010) it was very hard to hear the narration. Is this always a problem, or was it just our seat/boat?

- that old song was good. Although it's ancient history by now, I have no idea why they got rid of it.
