We are going to WDW May 9-16. I just checked the 10 day forecast and it says there is a 50 and 60 % chance of rain on 12 and 13. What is the local weather prediciting? Is it really too early to tell? If it does rain, how long will it last? Is there a front coming in? I know I sound like im going crazy about nothing. It's just we havn't been in two years and rain isn't fun. What should I do, what should I think? :hammer:  :o :o :o

It's still too early. I always anxiously wait so I can start checking the forecast 10 days out from our trips. More often than not it was wrong. I personally don't trust the forecast anywhere beyond 3 or 4 days.

I also check the weather before I go. As for the rain, bring your poncho and have fun. We always pack our "Walmart" specials and if it rains or they are calling for rain, we put them in the wife's back pack and go. Usually it doesn't last long and the parks do tent to clear out a little bit. As long as you don't get high winds or lighting, it's still the BEST place to be.

I always look once at the weather forecast before I leave. Just know it can and does change often. When I get to WDW I watch the local forcast so I can avoid MK on a day they are forcasting rain. Other than than we take our poncho's and go have fun!

Before my last trip when I pull up the 10 day forecast - it showed rain the entire time. Once we where there - rain on 1 day for about 45 minutes. Don't let is spoil your time!!

It is still to early to tell, but most of the time the rain does not last long. If you do happen to get a day or 2 of rain, dont let it ruin your time, just put on your poncho and keep on going. I have never let rain ruin my time in the parks. Have fun.

It's getting to the time of year when there's always a 50% chance of
t-storms anyway. You can't control it, don't worry about it. Be prepared and enjoy it as 25% of the people leave the park because of a 20 minute rain.

As well as the rain ponchos, bring an extra pair of shoes just in case they get real wet and don't dry out over night. It's not fun starting the day with a pair of damp shoes.

Its that time of year when most of these storms are ones that roll in off the ocean in the late afternoon. They are usually very scattered and can last from 15 minutes to a few hours. Orlando has them really bad it seems, up state we get them too but not as bad. Just pack a poncho, i usually get a few of the .99 ones and toss them after a storm so i dont have to carry them around.

If I were you, I would cancel your trip. Make sure you stay inside, and never, ever go outside if there is even the slightest chance of rain. In fact, I suggest that you completely wrap yourself in plastic just in case it rains inside your house.

 :lookaroun Play nice Tom...

As far as the rain is concerned however, dont worry about it. As someone else already stated, this is the time of year where it starts to rain everyday for 20 minutes or so. I personally refer to it as the 4pm clear out. It usually occurs around 4pm and everyone gos running from the parks because of a little rain. Tough it out with your ponchos and enjoy the shorter lines.

Have a great trip!

Thanks!

I think it probably is too early to tell. Anyway, thanks so much for the replys. Almost every trip we have taken it has rained the day we go to MGM (I don't know why that is).
Rain doesn't runin you trip, I just like it better sunny:).

I have been to Disney many times while it is raining. It is very nice because many guests leave the parks once it starts to sprinkle. It typically stops raining within 15-30 minutes. Then, the sun starts to come out and the parks are very empty. If you have a poncho, use it and continue touring the parks while it is still raining. All the wait times will be shorter (many people will just wait it out in the gift shops). Some outdoor rides (like TT) will close during the rain, but there are still plenty of indoor attractions to enjoy!
