I do not like this. Pixar is now under the "Control" of Disney, what happens if there are budget cuts and Disney tells Pixar that the budget for the movie is only 80 million instead of the 100-150 million that they are use to.

It is great that Disney now has the capability to make great Animated movies
but what will they do with this new found company. Will they tinker or will they let the Pixar Culture that has given us great movies stay alive.

your thoughts or comments?

I really hope that Disney let's Pixar be its own entity within the company. I really like the Pixar creative philosophy and culture, and I'm afraid that might be lost if Disney meddles too much. But, we shall see. In the long run, I definately think this was a good move, though.

Lassatter, creative head of WDI, eh? Hmmm...I'm intrigued.

job got bucks: money=power

Under terms of the deal, Pixar Chief Executive Steve Jobs will take a seat on Disney's board. He also becomes the company's largest individual shareholder.

Steve Jobs now holds the most power on the Disney Board. Steve doesn't make anything less than perfect. He's similar to Walt Disney in the way he absoultly demands the best out of everything he works on.

Same thing could probally be said of Lasster as well. As a Disney fan, Pixar fan and an Apple Nerd, this is really great news. Disney movies and theme parks will be nothing but plussed. :sohappy: :sohappy:

Was he involved with WDI before he left the company?

Nope...he was a Jungle skipper at Disneyland. They even let him take a boat out for old time's sake back at the 50th celebration.

Well thats the $7.4 billion question. Hopefuly Disney/Iger will realize that Pixar has been very successful operating the way they have. We can only hope they will be allowed to maintain the same corporate culture and operational style. My guess is that with both Jobs and Lasseter in place things should be fine.

I really want to know what Lassatter's actual job is going to be at WDI. For some reason the word adviser in his job title makes me a little worried that he will have no real power there. I hope I'm wrong and this isn't just a BS title for him. I almost feel like that was just thrown in there to make all of us happy. I hope I'm just paranoid.

And that.... has yet to be seen, I don't see Iger on the throne for very long... psssst... IMO
