if you do that you have to be careful if it will play on your dvd player or not. Some imported films will not play on american players. Soo just be carefull if you do.

They advertise the Brer Rabbit movie constantly on Nickelodeon. My 4 year old won't stop begging me to buy it.

It's not "imported", it is a counterfeit / fake DVD. Song of the South has never been released anywhere in the world on DVD.

Actually... it was officially released in Europe and in Asia.

Just not in the US.

Yeah as Barnum42 says it has only ever been released on VHS never on DVD (anywhere in the world).

If you email or call disney or BVHE they will confirm that for you.

There are a lot of convincing looking fakes around though, some scummy sellers on ebay have made a fortune selling them and other fake Disney DVD's :(

All European Disney DVD's have holograms either on the back or on the spine.

It wasn't released on DVD, but it was released on the very comporable Laserdisc.

It's like a DVD, only it's the size of a record and requires some flipping over sometimes...depending on the length of the movie. The original work-print of Beauty and the Beast was released on Laserdisc and is very superiour to the version that you find on the DVD. The Laserdisc version of Beauty and the Beast (Work-print) is much cleaner looking and doesn't have that annoying blue line that runs across the screen when the picture cuts from black and white to color. Ugh....it still bothers me now......

I went into Wal-Mart today (to buy software to do my federal tax return) and I saw the Brer Rabbit movie (DVD) prominently displayed. They were selling like hotcakes!
