Pre-Trip It's been 84 years........

Reaction Waiting GIF

Ok, not really, but it really feels like it.

It has actually been over 3 years since I've spent a week at Disney. With my daughter C, living in the Orlando area for two years, I did get to go to Florida to visit her at least once a season and spend a day at the parks from time to time. Both my girls and I were able to attend a Christmas party a few years ago, but it all seems like such a long time ago, too. My daughter moved back to the Midwest in August of 2024, and I haven't been back since.

I am now just 13 days away from a glorious trip with my eldest daughter, Em. This will be our second mother, daughter trip.

I'm not going to lie, I was a little disappointed in her choice of resort. She really wanted a Skyliner resort, so I tried to talk her into Caribbean Beach, but what can I say, she has cheap taste 😆. I'm kidding. She just really likes it for some reason. And.... It's not a bad resort, I'm just tired of staying there.

(Also, I can't undo the bold type so you're stuck with it until my next post. I'm clicking the B but nothing)

We have purchased the dining plan promotion that starts on October 20th and have 4 day park hoppers. We will have a rest day in the middle of our trip. We also decided to add an extra day to the front of our trip so we can enjoy a lazy travel day, Disney Springs, and possibly Typhoon Lagoon if we are in the mood.

Em had one more request.....

She said, "Let's Disney Bound". I'm all excited and am like "heck yeah, we're bounding to Disney". I'm old, what can I say. She then explains to me what Disney Bounding is.... So I'm dressing up like it's Halloween?. Anyway, we have each decided on 4 characters that we want to resemble. I can't believe I agreed to it, but it's things like this we do for our kids, even the adult kids.

Here are my four in no particular order.

Some are very obvious and some are a little less so. Some I'm looking forward to, and some I'm wondering what the heck I was thinking.

My job tonight is to start my lighting lane planning. With only one night at MK available due to parties and our rest day is a bit of a bummer, and I don't know if I can start buying LL on the 12th or the 13th. Since we arrive on the 19th but our first park day isn't until the 20th. Any input is welcome.

13 days!! Yeeeekk!

My question is, I want to buy LL for MK at the 7 day period and book my original 3 rides. Two hours after the park opens on Monday the 20th, can I start booking more rides at MK every two hours like in years past to stack LL's? Everything I watch online says that I can book my fourth LL once I tap into my first LL. I'm so confused!
You must tap in to your first LL before booking more than your original 3 pre-booked LLs.

And honestly, rope drop at early entry if you can manage it. Even on a crowded day, you will get more done in the first two hours after park opening than you think. Booking your first LL early morning will also enable you to grab more throughout the day.

I second @Tuvalu! The only exceptions are if your first LL expires you can book another one, or if the ride goes down during your LL time you get a multi-experience pass and can book a fourth. However, you can only book Tier 2 rides until you have actually used your first one.

Also, I was at MK two weeks ago on a non-party night and it was slammed! I entered at 7:30 and they were announcing that Main Street was at capacity for the 8:00 parade, while most rides were at over 30 minutes, even during fireworks. I noticed that both Haunted Mansion and Pooh had their LLs full and stretching out past the touch points (Pooh was back to the teacups!). Even the second parade was 3-4 people deep at Liberty Square. Early entry is your friend!😀

I'm a little bummed and was hoping i could stack them like we did a few years ago with Genie+. Thank you for your words of wisdom.

Wow! Our plans are actually to go to Animal Kingdom for early entry and the afternoon, then hop over to Magic Kingdom for the evening. Due to the MNSSHP party's and a private party for one of the nights we are there, we will only have one night at MK. I will book just the three lightning lanes and hope for the best. 😁

Just a little sneak peak. I can't believe I'm posting this picture. Em got me these earrings to wear with my Snow white outfit. I didn't have the heart to tell her that I was going to change to a different character, so Snow White stays. By the way, I was trying to sing like Snow White in the picture

Love the earrings. When I Disney Bound I try to do it “subtly” - meaning only by clothing color (but not clothing style) and then accessories like these earrings. Otherwise I find it too stressful because I don’t think I’m creative enough. Hmm. Should I Disney Bound on my upcoming trip to DLP … probably not, as I have yet to switch over to my winter wardrobe so I have been “making do” for the past week and in another 10 days my choice of warm enough clothes is likely to be severely limited 🤣

Have fun on your trip!

Oh you have to do it! I really wanted to do Goofy, but with it being so hot, I decided against it, too many layers 😊. I'm not very creative either, but I have a daughter who won't take no for an answer.

October 21 - Epcot

We are rope dropping and probably heading back in the evening. No park hopping this day. We do have reservations for Behind the Seeds, and I'm excited for that. I also heard about the Florida Club in Morocco. I'm guessing it's just an indoor quiet area where you can get drinks and rest. I went online and registered to enter. Let me know if any of you have checked it out. Lastly, I want to see Luminous. My girls are not fireworks or parade girls. I usually miss them. I heard a great place to watch them is on the upper deck in Japan. Has anyone tried that spot?

October 22 - Rest day

Em has been wanting the Fried Green Tomato Sandwich at the Plaza. They don't carry it any longer, but we have found they have one at Crocket Tavern in Fort Wilderness. We'll be heading there sometime to eat, and then, if we're able, stop by the horse barns. At 1:00, we have reservations to make mosaic art at Coronado. After that, who knows!
