It's a Small World with Groot

It's cute, it's temporary, it's fine.

If anything, it just injects a little bit of fun into a ride for the kids to look out for when they ride it.

Plus, seeing how cute the characters look i can see merchandise (and you know there will be merch!) sales being pretty popular too.

Let me say this, the market in Asia vs USA are very different we prefer to have a cute eccentric route. And for extreme and more adult themed parks we already have that in other places.

So yeah, Not the minority here will agree on Classic rides being changed here. I mean take a look at Haunted mansion theres an overlay 9 months a year.

I'll brace for the ridicule and say that I think this is super cute and very well done, and I even wish it had a slightly longer tenure so I could see it.

They should rotate this to some of the other parks as a temporary overlay like a traveling show.

I’d love to see it at Disneyland tbh. It’s really adorable. 🥺🥺

I'm mostly dying to know what series of decisions lead to this happening behind the scenes. Groot has nothing to do with the current Vanellope Sweets event. The tenure is only six months, so it only exists for its own sake. We've heard rumors that Disney would like TDR to buy a Marvel ride. Marvel isn't particularly popular in Japan, it does well enough and better than Star Wars, but especially nothing recently that would justify this new integration.

It's a head scratcher. It's cute enough that they should just leave it for longer, but the short tenure makes me feel like it wasn't their preference to do it to begin with.

Marvel is in the night time show as well, I think WDI has a mandate from higher up to integrate Marvel across the resorts, but is testing to waters to see how TDR guests respond to how its presented.

Since the Marvel rights contract with USJ had expired, TDR has been aggressive with Marvel Characters and the feeling right now is that they want to target Male audience as that is the smallest demographic of guests right now in the parks.

This makes sense! Thanks for the insight. Surprised Groot is how they're starting because its very kawaii and seems more female focused but im a guy and think its lovely so what do I know.
