Hello everyone, my name is Serena and I live in Italy. I've been to a disneyworld twice when I got married the other a year later. Now I have a child who turns two years in June. We would love to go to Disneyworld I really miss! Do you advise me with a little girl to come this year or is it better to wait a few years? The flight is 14 hours with the airport there are 6 hours difference. Here, unfortunately, in Italy there is nothing that speaks of Disneyworld is this forum keeps me company here and I'm less absence. I also scaicato the application Sorcer radio listening all the time! Thanks for your advice you are strong! A kiss from the far-off Italy

Hello Serena, and welcome. I had an aunt by that name, but as to your question, as the flight is so very long I would advise that you wait until the child is 5 or 6 years old. This is just my opinion but I think the child will remember and enjoy Disney World more when they are a little older in age. Have you ever gone on holiday to Disney Paris? That might be a good first step for you and your family. I hope that this helps you. What part of Italy do you live in? Half of my family came to America from Italy.

Ciao Bella and Welcome to WDWMAGIC! Actually the advice @zurgandfriend gave you, regarding perhaps waiting a couple years, is probably your best bet. Of course, only you know how your little one would react to a long plane ride and long days in the parks, but there are many people who visited Disney when their children were very young. I started bringing my son to Disney when he was 2 1/2 (and it was alot closer) and he remembers everything we did (he is now 24) Disney Paris would be an excellent idea, as @zurgandfriend stated, see how that goes, then plan from there. Wishing you the best!! Cinzan!!

Welcome!!! I took my younger daughter twice when she was 2. There are pro's and con's to it. She needed more breaks and was far more meltdown prone. On the flipside, she had a great time most of the time, was able to stay up fairly late if she got a good afternoon nap, and it was all so real and magical to her because of the age. It was also good for the budget as she was free :)

Still, if I were flying from a country abroad, I'd probably wait until she was a little bit older...unless she's good with the long air travel and more significant time differences. I.e. I know many children with family overseas who have done a lot of international travel starting at 3-6 months of age and are well seasoned travelers by age 2.

As the previous poster noted, Disneyland Paris might be a good place to start

Hope this helps.:)

Thank you all for taking my call! I live in La Spezia in Liguria. The spice is one of the Cinque Terre and Pisa. We did a quote to go to Disneyland in Paris and would cost us 400 euro more 'that come to Florida so we are waiting! You want to put Disneyworld with Disneyland? There is no comparison! I have so many good memories, I completely fell in love with Disney is a great place and I hope that when my daughter will be 'biggest I can' come every year!! Thanks again wait two more years but it will be worth while! It will be a nice vacation for my whole family! Sorry for my English but do not speak it well and I do help the translator mica :) Do you know where I can buy something to talk to disneyworld? I'd like to have a DVD or a CD with all the music of the parks here in Italy do not find anything: (

Ciao,
We went when my children were 17 months and 3 years old and when they say priceless, it truly is. They remember the majority of it because we have pictures and they are such big Disney fans. Your daughter will appreciate it but if your only going to do it once, I would wait until she is a bit older and try Paris like others suggested. Good luck!!!!

Your English is fine, great job! Perhaps check ebay.com (many sellers do International shipping) There is lots of things there for Disney lovers, like us all! Also, check out alot of videos on youtube.com. Between coming here on WDWMAGIC and chatting with us all, and those two websites I mentioned will give you a dose of Disney, every day :)

Since you are posting here with the help of a translator, I am not sure how well you understand the spoken language, but if you can understand English well enough to watch American television, YouTube has several episodes of shows that you could check out. After it was suggested by @DisneyDebNJ, I did a quick search and found the entirety of Unwrapped: Walt Disney World. There's also the Food Networks Holiday Special: Disney World from several years ago.

The full episode of Modern Marvels: Walt Disney World is up for viewing, and that's probably one of the better Disney World documentaries you can find. Just copy and paste those titles into your search bar on YouTube. They should be the first listed options. I do not know if these videos will make the want to visit better or worse, but at least they are something to watch.

I would wait a couple years. International travel and Disney World is more work than I would like to do!

If you sin to go, though, I wish you luck!!

I wouldn't worry about the flight being long. We kind of did the reverse trip (Chicago to Palermo with 2 layovers in Zurich and Rome) last year with my 1 1/2 yr old son and he managed better than my husband. Plus the flight to Italy tends to mostly be overnight so he slept almost the whole flight.
