Trip Report It started with a toot and "Welcome to Hawaii"!!!! - Complete

Day 1 - Arrival Day

We woke up bright and early...in fact it was still dark outside. We rolled out of bed and scurried around to get out the door by 6:30am.

We made a quick pit stop at Wawa for some donuts (breakfast of champion).

IMG_0015.JPG

This is my lil prince Evan and my daughter Hayley as we headed out of our neighborhood. I'm not quite sure what was shocking (Evan) and slightly funny (Hayley)?????

Btw, that brown piece of fuzz and fur that Evan has is his pillow pet, otherwise known as "P-pet". He goes everywhere with us and is probably the most well traveled pillow pet around!

IMG_0016.JPG

Again, I think we all woke up too early and everyone was slightly confused. Lil Evan looks like he thinks he is Muhammad Ali and Hayley is trying to look awake and pose. That's Manny to the left.

We arrived at the little local airport that just recently started having commercial flights. It only has one airline that flies out so it wasn't bad in the way of crowds, etc.

As we are getting the luggage out of the car, I grab my daughters suitcase by the attached handle and it flies off and the bag goes flying to the ground. No problemo....we still have the telescoping handle and nothing is going to stop us or get in the way of going on this trip.

**Here is the first explanation of our TR titl e**
As we are standing in line waiting to check our bags, the guy in front of us just lets it rip!!!!! Really loud and long!!! I turn around and take one look at my husband whose eyes are popping out of his head. Hubs turns around and literally walks out of the airport!

Meanwhile, Mr. Tooter just stood there and didn't even flinch...as if it never even happened and so did Mrs. Tooter!

We finally got through check-in and security and here is us waiting to be called to board!

IMG_0020.JPG

IMG_0023.JPG

Isn't my lil prince and P-pet adorable?

Here is our plane and saver of our sanity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IMG_0024.JPG

Yes, it was pouring outside that morning and because the airport is so small...you literally walk outside up to the plane. Again, nothing was stopping us or getting in the way of this vacation. Onward we go!!!!!

IMG_0025.JPG

Frontier is known for their animals on the tales of their planes....we got this guy!

I wasn't sure how Evan would do on the plane and I came prepared with his Innotab, plenty of fruit snacks and a sticker book. Hayley on the other hand was slowly talking herself into a frenzy of nervousness. This was her first time flying too.

Here is the fam........

IMG_0028.JPG

I still don't know what is up with these "shocked" looks on his face!

IMG_0026.JPG

IMG_0032.JPG

He is such a clown!

The day was so dreary and this was the view out of my plane window:

Btw, this part of my TR is all about the characters. We did all of the rides, but nothing exciting to speak of outside of Transformers. I will say, if you haven't done Shrek 3D, that was awesome too. One of my favorites actually! It was cute!

It was hot and we were getting wore out. Five o'clock had come it was time for their actual parade which includes all of the floats we already so throughout the day. See?

IMG_0389.JPG

It doesn't look crowded in that pic above, but it was. The empty spots across the street were on the side of the sun where nobody wanted to sit.

IMG_0388.JPG

Aaaghhhhhhhhhhhhhh....I could just look at this tree all day! Paradise!

IMG_0390.JPG

IMG_0391.JPG

Characters in your face.......AGAIN!!!!

IMG_0392.JPG

One of the minion people told Evan he remembered him from earlier and how they talked about bananas, etc.!

At this point, I went into panic mode because I got the error message on my camera that I was out of memory space. What??????????? This has never happened to me before! Same memory card, new camera...maybe that's why. No....it's because I recorded videos too. I had to go through and start deleting unnecessary gunk! I figured I would just go to the store and by another memory card too because we have MK tomorrow and that's not happening!

IMG_0394.JPG
IMG_0395.JPG

So, at this point it is dinner time and we decided to eat at Pat O'Briens. Unfortunately, I didn't get pics of our meals because of my stupid memory card space problem.

I had cajun shrimp & grits. It was good but could have used more cajun! Hubs got seafood mac & cheese. Hayley got wings and manny got some kind of chicken sandwhich I think. Boo boo got grilled cheese. We were all pretty satisfied.

This restaurant has a piano bar inside and the guy was there playing and taking requests. It was us and a couple other families in there at the time. We had plenty of requests, sang along and ended our dinner with a rendition of "New York, New York" where all of us but Manny got up and pretended to be Rockettes! Even hubs! Yes, that's right!

*Funny Story Alert* At this point Evan reminds us that we didn't get him his TF souvenir. Crap!!!!!!!! That's right! We told him we would get him a stuffed Bumblee at the end of the day so we wouldn't have to carry it around all day. We already had Bart Simpson with us, remember?

Sooooo, we had to leave City Walk and go back through the entrance to "U" Studios, all the way back to TF's! We buy this thing and as we are leaving, the real Bumblebee is out there still meeting people. This time he had a huge line!

We walk by and get past it to leave and Evan says, "But wait!!!! I have to show Bumblebee my piwow!" That's what he called the stuffed Bumblebee. Hubs gave "the look" because at this point he was just hot and ready to go home. I said, "Evan, we can go back and show him, but we aren't standing in line...it's too long. Okay?"

He says okay.

I take him around to the "exit" side of the line and do what any crazy mother would do who spoils her child. I start yelling to Bumblebee as loud as possible! "Bumblebeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, hey Bumblebeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! Looooooooooooooooooook!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Bumblebee looks over and Evan says, "Wook what I got Bumblebee! See?" Bumblebee responded with a nod of the head, gave him a cool dance by rocking back and forth and then pointed to him. So cool!!!!!! I can't get enough of these guys. Anywhoooo, my four year old was happy and we were allowed to move on!

That concluded our "U" day!

We couldn't believe the next day would be our last day of vacation. Where did the time go????????????? I was super excited for it to be our MK day, yet sad all at the same time.

Since it would be our MK day, I had to go home and pack and go through all of our "check out" motions so we could spend as much time at MK as possible. We were staying for Wishes, etc. so it was going to be a long day.

Next up: Magic Kingdom (eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkk!!!)

Day 7 - Magic Kingdom Day

The day I had been waiting for all week had finally come! There was so much anticipation for this day. I couldn't wait for the kids to see the castle and all the magic. Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain, you name it!

We initially planned our MK day for earlier in the week, but after we heard about the scheduled media days for the Seven Dwarf Mine Train, we decided to push it as far back as possible to avoid media day and the weekend crowds. This left us with our last day, Tuesday! We also hoped by doing this, maybe we would have a chance to ride it ourselves!!!!!!!!!!!! Fingers crossed!

I popped up extra early that morning on a mission:

Park passes - check

Autograph books - check

Unnecessary photos deleted off camera since I still didn't have another memory card - check

Sunblock - check

Let's roll people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We wanted to get there early for the arrival of the train!

Here we are guys! I can't believe it! The day I had waited months and months and months for. Eeeeek. It was hard to contain my excitement. $17 to park and we are in!

IMG_0396.JPG

They were not yet running the monorail so they were directing everyone to get on the ferry instead. I promised the kids a ride on the monorail at some point so I knew we would have to take it on our way out later that night. See the castle off to the right in the distance?
IMG_0397.JPG

He we come! The boat couldn't move fast enough!
IMG_0398.JPG

I'm sad the pic below came out a little blurry:
IMG_0399.JPG

We were there plenty early which was good and bad. It was good because there weren't many folks in front of us at the entrance. It was bad because we had to be patient and wait for the grand production!

I was hesitant to take pics of certain things because I wanted to save them for our character encounters. I'm sad that I just didn't go to Target the night before and buy one! We were just so exhausted and didn't have it in us at the time.

IMG_0401.JPG

IMG_0402.JPG

The welcome show ended and the park was opened. We had no problem zipping through with our passes. My first mission was to head back to the NFL to see if the 7DMT was opening for guests at all.

IMG_0403.JPG

It was a stampede like no other! I'm thinking "holy cow...everyone want to get to the 7DMT like us!". It was total madness. People pushing, tripping, bobbing and weaving. Wait, I gotta keep up with the hubs. He almost left us!

IMG_0404.JPG

We finally get back to the NFL and realize that we were the ONLY ones running for 7DMT, EVERYONE else was on a mission for Anna & Elsa!!!!!!!!!!!

The CM's at 7DMT said "no way", no soft openings going on. My hopes were dashed, but I was still going to occasionally walk by just in case! The ride is gorgeous and super quiet. There were empty trains running already!

With my temporarily crushed, I decided to snag a visit with Ariel first! Hey....I remembered the autograph books this time! We only had one family in line ahead of us. Score!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Evan was enamored! He was in love! Dang these sporadic blurry pictures! Photopass got the clear one...just need to purchase it.

IMG_0405.JPG

IMG_0406.JPG

She asked Hayley something about being her mouse servant....

IMG_0408.JPG

Manny with the ladies...always a big smile!

IMG_0409.JPG

We rode the Little Mermaid ride after this, but everywhere we went that day, Evan would stop to point out the castle and talk about the castle. He was in awe and his reactions were just as I had hoped they would be!

We walked around the NFL to familiarize ourselves with everything. I knew from another TR that some of our other friends were lurking around somewhere. I tracked them down and we were the first in line to meet them. Just note, they are not there right away, they get there at 9:45am!!!

The cool thing about it was, since we were first, Minnie & Daisy came and opened the doors. Daisy took Hayley and Evan by the hands and walked them through the building right to the m&g spot! Cool I took a pic and of course.....BLURRY. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

IMG_0412.JPG

I'm feeling good because the autograph books are now getting action and I'm making up for our Epcot day. Woohoo!

Since we were the first in line for Minnie & Daisy, we ran right over to the line next door for Donald & Goofy. We only had a handful of folks in front of us. Not too shabby!

I'm trying not to cringe as I snap every picture...hoping it doesn't tell me I'm out of space again. Ever since I deleted a long video of the "U" parade...I've been doing okay.

IMG_0419.JPG

Donald is so short, isn't he? Cutie!
IMG_0420.JPG

Time to hit Small World! This is always one of my mom's favorite rides. She gave us instructions to think of her as we rode on it. Not only did we do that, we added some money to the water on her behalf! The kids each threw in a penny and we through one in for my mom too! Thinking of you mom!

I love the hula dancers! Shake it girl, shake it!

IMG_0422.JPG

We had our FP+ for BTMRR. We got right on and everyone loved it. I wasn't sure what Evan would think, but he screamed "yeehawwwww" throughout the ride.

When we came out, we saw Woody and Jessie meeting everyone. Remember we missed Woody on our HS day when the downpour came? I was going to make up for it now! The line wasn't bad at all....or so I thought.

The line wasn't long, but it sure didn't move...at all! We waited and waited and waited. Then they had to take a five minute break. Noooo!!!!!!!!!!!! It finally came to be our turn and Evan got upset out of nowhere. He freaked and started on a "I want Daddy" tirade. What????? Evan, you wanted to see Woody for a long time...it's finally our turn. Nope! He was not having any parts of it after all that wait time! It was hot, we were thirsty...I understand! Daddy tried to get in the picture with him to see if it would help and here is the result:

IMG_0423.JPG

Poor boo boo!

We scurried to find any kind of liquid to hydrate us. We were thiiiiiirsty! After having our drink, everyone was refreshed and it was time for our FP+ for Splash Mountain!

Hayley went into her Hayley Frenzy. She jabbered on non-stop throughout the whole ride about how she shouldn't have gotten on, Manny's legs are too big and the bar doesn't go down tight enough on her, she's going to fly out of the ride, yadda yadda yadda. She jabbered so much it was hard to hear the sound of the ride itself.

She survived the ride, as we all did (shocker) and check out our pic:

IMG_0424.JPG

Where's Hayley? Can you find her? Did you fly out? No! She bent all the way down....crazy girl! Meanwhile, boo boo is smiling...he loved it!

We had used all of our FP+ by now, our other one was Peter Pan's Flight, so I was able to go to a kiosk and reserve Space Mountain for the hubs, me and Manny. Hayley and Evan got FP+ for Dumbo instead. What an extreme, huh?

The Space Mountain FP wasn't until later, but Dumbo was for now! They made me ride with Evan even though I didn't have a FP with them. You have to have an adult and Hayley wasn't an old enough escort. Hi Hayley!

IMG_0425.JPG

Finally we decided we better grab some castle pics while the crowd wasn't so bad:

IMG_0426.JPG

Hubs and I didn't line up right and I was disappointed with our pics. I wish we would have taken our time to get better ones, but we were doing our best to get in as much as possible on our only MK day:

We were making good time with all of our FP+ reservations. Space Mountain was down and done! I was able to FP+ Cinderella for the kids. This was one of the finer moments I had waited for because Hayley and Evan both love her! I couldn't wait!

IMG_0428.JPG

She asked Evan if he was a prince charming in training. He said shook his head yes. She asked if he was learning to ride a noble steed. Yep! She said she was going to ask if he has manners but she didn't need to because she could tell he did!

She had a long conversation with Hayley about people wanting to be like other people and asked if she saw the ugly step sisters outside. We actually did see them outside and they didn't have much of a waiting line. The kids LOVED this visit!

On to Rapunzel!

IMG_0429.JPG

She asked Evan something about using a frying pan to keep away thugs and ruffians! Did she really say that? Oh yes she did! Hilarious!

**Smackdown alert**

Princes meets accomplished, it was time to reserve another FP+. We wanted Pirates now...my personal favorite! I go to the entrance of the queue for the kiosk. These kiosks always have lines mind you. I get in the queue the right way and here comes two ladies who duck under the rope right in front of me and cut.

I mumbled to myself outloud "Really?". The one right in front of me spins around and says "OH my god, it's not that big of a deal! Go ahead, get in front of me. You don't have to be so hateful about it!"

Huh? I didn't know just saying the word "really" since you cut in front of me was that dramatic and hateful....but now...it's on!

I said, "Lady, apparently you don't know the definition of the word hateful!"

She proceeds to say, "Get in front of her too...she butted too!"

I responded in my most sarcastic way, "Nahhhh, that would be hateful."

The funny part about this whole exchange is that she was wayyyy more upset about all of this then I was. Cra Cra!!!

It was my turn for the FP kiosk and Cra Cra decides after all that drama that she's just outright leaving after all. Weirdo!

I meet up with the hubs and kids and was telling my husband about the situation. He said that wouldn't have gone down like that with him because he would told her to get her butt out of line period.

Drama over, we head to pirates for our magical experience. Back to the happiest place on earth mind frame. Aaaghhhhhhhhhh.

We were able to do Pirates, Tiki Room, Aladdins Carpet and Jungle Cruise all while in Adventureland. I'm upset I have no pics but I was trying to be conservative. Now that I look back on this, I wish I would have tracked down a store in MK that sold memory cards, but I wasn't trying to take up valuable ride/experience time.

We did a FP for Buzz next:

IMG_0430.JPG

IMG_0431.JPG

We tracked down a place to have dinner. We tracked down a place to have dinner and decided after that it would be time find a good place for the parade! I had looked forward to sharing the electrical parade experience with the kids forever! I couldn't wait for them to experience the magic of this and most of all Tinkerbell starting off the fireworks! Eeeek!

We hit the area in front of the castle at 8pm and are shocked to find all the spaces are already taken. I thought an hour lead time would still leave us something. Where was my head at???????????????

We scrounge in a slither of space and hunker down to wait. Waiting, waiting, waiting. A janitor walks by and randomly says, "Hey folks! Having a nice night? You know the parade doesn't come through here. This is just fireworks viewing!" He smiles and walks away. Wait! What??????????????

How could we have gotten this so wrong? By this time, the crowds were outrageous and there was nowhere to go.

Hubs and I got into a debate about what to do. Do we walk down Main St? If we walk too far, then we half to walk back up to see the Tinkerbell thing. Sigh! This is a disaster! I don't want to disappoint the kids and this is our only opportunity to see this stuff.

We opted to start walking down Main St. towards the park entrance. Wrong move! All of the CM's herd you like cows. "Keep moving, keep moving! You cannot stop here! You must be behind the rope!"

Fine! We keep walking trying to find rope space. How do you find rope space for five people? Impossible! I'm getting more and more upset because they do not let you stop, even for a second. We tried hunkering down into a storefront opening, but no go there either!

We were almost at the end of Main St. and I stopped to turn around and ask my hubs what we should do now. A CM yells in my face, "Keep moving, YOU CANNOT STOP HERE!!!"

I said, "I don't know where you want us to go. If we keep moving we will be leaving the park."

Ready for her response? Ready for it???

"Oh well, these folks have been waiting in these spots since 6pm. I suggest the 11pm parade!"

Sigh!!!!!!! At this point, I'm tired, irritated and can't believe she just talked to us like that. I feel, it's not what you say....it's how you say it and she was straight up ignorant!

"I said, I love how you had no problem taking my money, etc. but now you couldn't care less what kind of experience we have or whether or not we even stay in the park. I don't think Disney would condone your attitude right now and your customer service is horrible!"

She says in a sarcastic tone, "Sorry you feel that way. Keep it moving people!"

I was furious at this point. Furious! I let it get the best of me and said, "I'm sorry you're such a b****!"

I grabbed her info off of her name tag and told her I was reporting her to which she replied, "Feel free to report me, go ahead."

Was this really happening? I couldn't believe it!

Meanwhile, the hubs misses this whole exchange and jots across the street to squeeze behind a rope. We all squeeze in barely!

The kids vaguely caught the parade. Evan had a better view on Manny's shoulders. This is the only pic I got.

Omg I love the crazy stories that go down a wdw! We've had a few including strangers who "don't speak English" trying to straight up move our stroller out of the way with child on board for better parade viewing to some lady who tried to berate my wife and I (she lost bad) because she thought we spoke ill of her?!?

I hope u really did report that witchy CM!

I surely did report! A couple of days later I got one of those pre-scripted response emails about how they take their guest experiences seriously and would be sure to forward my complaint to the appropriate individual. Who knows what happens behind the scenes.

The way she said, "feel free to report me" made me feel she had not a care in the world about it. As if this stuff happens all of the time.

Funny thing, I had read about crazy CM experiences prior to us leaving, and throughout the week, we never experienced any reason for craziness. Interesting that they both happened on our MK day.

The parade seemed to be over before we knew it and a lot of people began to exit the park. Not us. We headed in the opposite direction, back towards the castle. My final mission was to have the kids see Tinkerbell fly from the castle.

This was VERY important to me. Ever since my first trip to WDW, I have been in awe of when Tink flies. I don't know what it is...I just love it! I wanted the kids to experience it too.

We booked it against the crowd and made our way up to the ice cream shop where they had tables and chairs to sit at. We could finally sit down and rest a bit. When WAS the last time we sat down? Who knows!

Depression is sinking in that our departure day is drawing closer and we are all getting kind of bleh!

Hubs starting getting impatient, worrying about what the crowd would be like heading out and the kids, naturally started pesting for ice cream. We asked them to hold off because of the line inside and we didn't want to get stuck in there when Tink came.

Wishes started which seemed to go on forever. I loved it...but where's Tink? The last time I was at WDW, Wishes didn't exist so I didn't know what to expect. Wishes ends.....and still no Tink? What's the deal.

Hubs was ready to call it a night when they finally shut the lights down and I could see her shimmering in the dark. Here she comes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't take a pic, it's impossible to even try. I just wanted to enjoy the moment with the family. Evan loved it! "Mommy! It's Tinterbell mommy! Tinterbell!" And that folks....is all I could have ever wanted!

We didn't finish watching the fireworkds, instead we made the trek to the monorail.

IMG_0435.JPG

We got the pink one. Alright...I'm down! Love it!

The kids loved their monorail ride. I just wish it wasn't the ride taking us out of the park for the last time. Sniff, sniff! Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

We considered stopping off for ice cream, but this happened:

IMG_0436.JPG

Exhaustion!

We headed to our gorgeous home away from home to tidy up for the last time. Our vacation had come to an end. I think that is one of the hardest sentences anyone has to type. The words "vacation" and "end" should never be in the same sentence!

We went home and crashed, having already done most of the packing work the night before. The morning quickly came and we were off to the airport.

Here is our ride waiting for us:

IMG_0437.JPG

We had gotten the weather report from home and heard that it had done nothing but rain every day since we had left. Remember we departed in the rain? Still raining! Why do I want to leave these sunny, blue skies for that? Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't make me go!!!!! You can't make me!!!!!!!!!!

Crud.............they made me!

IMG_0438.JPG

Till next time Mickey....

Two hours later we are back home:

IMG_0441.JPG

IMG_0442.JPG

Blah! Ick! Dreary 'ol home! Where is my sunny Florida? Where are my magical moments? Heck....I'll even take a smackdown encounter over being home again!

Well....that was our trip friends! It's been hard getting back into the swing of things. Hard going back to work and cooking all our own meals again. I'm determined more than ever to hit the lottery now.

Every time a WDW commercial comes on t.v., Evan exclaims, "Wook mommy! Disney Word!!!! We went dere!"

Yes, we did! And we will definitely see ya real soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I enjoyed getting to re-live my vacation with all of you and I hope you enjoyed getting to read about...thanks for following along!

I love reading your trip report, your family is so much fun and especially little boo boo. thanks for sharing all of your magical moments and even not so magical moments with us. I'm always pleased to read about Universal and see everyones thoughts are to those parks. I went once for the HP experience and was able to do most rides, family enjoyed but loved Disney more. The parade people are always under extreme stress with all the people coming and going and stopping traffic to see the parade so people cant leave, its a tough job but they should be better then the experience you had. Just glad your family had a wonderful time.:):):):):):):):):).

Awesome report! My own vacation cannot come soon enough!

Thank you!! I cannot wait to read your report when the time comes, as well as see the new addition!!! So exciting!!!

Love your family and this report! You and your husband are adorable, and all three kids are great. Great job, so glad you had a good time (except for a few little setbacks :) )

Thank you! We had such a good time. It was depressing to come back home and depressing all over again to finish the trip report! It just reminds me that it is definitely really over. Thank you for following along!

Awwww! You are the best! Thank you! I'm with you on Universal. I don't mind doing it once in a while, but I most certainly prefer Disney. I can never get tired of the attractions there no matter how many times I do them. I just feel I get my money's worth at Disney...more so than Universal. We are already trying to decide when our next trip will be.

We are typically cruise addicts and do cruises each year, so this year was something very different and special. Hubs said maybe in four or five years we'll do Disney again. Partley because we have home improvement projects to tackle. Can you imagine boo boo being 8 or 9 years old??? I can't! I'm trying to keep him my baby forever.

Thank you for following!!!!!!!!!!!! :joyfull:

My husband thought it was hilarious too. He said, "Why didn't you bite her to get her off of you?" I said, "Well....I was too busy having my life flash before my eyes and besides she had me in a head lock from behind...I couldn't bite her if I wanted to." I love your avatar by the way....that is too cute! "In summerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..." Thanks for following to the end!

My family is becoming cruisers to. I try to take them on a one week cruise and like 4 or 5 day Disney trip and all I keep hearing is when is the next cruise going to be. Which cruise line does your family like to take if you don't mind me asking?

My family is becoming cruisers to. I try to take them on a one week cruise and like 4 or 5 day Disney trip and all I keep hearing is when is the next cruise going to be. Which cruise line does your family like to take if you don't mind me asking?

We like Royal Caribbean. I've also been on Norwegian one time, but prefer Royal. I've never been on Disney yet. I love that you get to peek at multiple locations during a one week cruise and then you can get an idea if it is somewhere you would like to go back for a stay, ya know?

I know what you mean, I have done both Royal and Carnival and now trying to convince my family that Disney is the way to go for the next cruise. I try to tell them we should always try new things to know what we would prefer to do in the future or even who we would like to cruise with in the future. Thanks for chatting with me about your vacation experiences :D.
