Well, we already were planning our trip for june. My mother called today and now we are also going to be going down to wdw for few days in Nov. 24- 29th. We have never been to disney this week so we are not sure what exactly to expect. But we are definately thrilled! we will have the ap's, but I was just wondering when do they put up the holiday decorations and are there any extra special things going on for the holidays /children (ages 3,7 & 9). thanks for any advice, can't believe I am planning two trips in one year, I am soooo happy!

I went in 2002 and was there from Nov. 21-24 and there were some Christmas decorations up already and it was really fun. Crowds are low but the weather can be a bit chilly at night(One night it got down to the 40's...brrrr) so bring some sweatshirts and jackets nothing too bulky though. It's a great time to go though! Have a great time!

Hey Dwarful!! I think that will be an absolutely awesome time to go!!! Right after Thanksgiving is when EVRYTHING for Christmas starts!!! All the decorations will be up and looking great!! As far as special events WOW!!! Ill start with my personal favorite which is the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. I dont have the dates for that for 2004 as of yet ( I Dont think anyone does including Disney!!!) But it is usually held on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday of each week. It is a seperate ticket event (about $40 for an adult) but I absolutely adore this. The special Parade, the snow on Main Street ( Magical Disney type, no shoveling required!) the special shows etc. It is just lovely.
Number two on my hit parade is the Candlelight Processional. It is a lovely musical retelling of the Christmas story by a mass choir accompanied by a full orchestra. Truly a moving, beautiful way to remember te reason for the Season.
The best thing to help give you a really good idea is the Travel Channel special done by Samantha Brown in which she enjoys all the holiday festivities at the Happiest Place on Earth. She does both the Mickey's Very Merry, the Candlelight Processional and so much more. I thought it was great and do have it on video tape but can anyone post at least parts of the special here?
Im sure you will just have an amazing time!! Belle

I did see the specials around the holidays, I didn't know if they would be going on when we will be there. That would be so great to go to. Is it hard to get the tickets? we will have ap's so we won't have a length of stay hopper pass or a 5 day hopper pass etc. will that make a difference? or will we still be able to buy the tickets?

now i don't know which trip I am looking forward to more, June or November! did I say i was excited????that is an understatement. haven't told the kids yet though, not until Nov. I think.

They usually start the day after Thanksgiving for all the holiday festivities, so you should be able to hit just about everything. Tickets arent that hard to get although Id advise you to do MVMCP on a night when school is in the following day, as they are typically less crowded. As this is a seperate event, the type of ticket that you have makes no difference. it is not included with ANY other type of admission and is only sold seperately.

Candlelight Processional- This event is included with your EPCOT park admission, but I recommend the dinner package. It is varying prices depending on which restaurant you choose. It is between slightly over $30.00 to just above $40 for an adult. This pays for a complete dinner ( appetizer, soup or salad, main course and dessert) at one of the countries and gives you priority seating for the Candlelight Processional, closer to the front of the America Gardens Theatre. I like the priority seating and I have to eat anyhow so.....that is the way I usually go.
Any questions, please post and I will be more than happy to answer anything I can!! Belle

We are heading down on Nov. 20th and staying through the 26th, so like you, I have a lot of questions on crowds, lines, closing, weather, etc. This forum has done a great job on hitting most of them.
