It’s Tough to be a Bug (Literally)

When talking to people who have just got back from their first Disney trip, I have always heard complaints about the cost and the crowds, but usually, there was a “but..” and then we talked about the incredible rides and how everything is so well themed, even the lines, etc. and you could always kinda see the spark in their their eyes.
I no longer get that reaction from first time guests. Now it’s the typical complaining, followed by stories of what went wrong or what wasn’t working or how they didn’t get to do something. It makes it tough on me cause one of my hobbies is annoying people by talking about Disney too much lol.

I don't want TTBAB gone... I love A Bug's Life and want it represented in the parks more... I still want a Flik doll (always wanted one, yet I don't have the time to buy it...)
I doubt it’ll ever leave anytime soon. Thematically, it makes the most sense in its location. Disney (I hope) wouldn’t be dumb enough to replace AK’s centerpiece with a movie preview. I feel like this is in the extreme back of disney execs mind, and it’s not in the way of anything. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yes. Everything. Even the rubber fog blast.

Beanie Bunnie, Statler, Waldorf, Swedish Chef, Cannon, Burn Rubber, Arrows, Fireworks, Sweetums, every Penguin animatronic, the walls.. and I didnt even know that mist came out of the wall explosion until yesterday.

Muppets is in fantastic shape. As of yesterday. Statler and Waldorf were smooth.
Just got out. Curtains are already broken again and a few other small things off but it's the best I have caught it in years.

It’s just gotten to the point where it’s just embarrassing…when I first came on here years ago, I was always accused of being a “pixie duster”…Disney still gives y DW & I great joy to visit for a week, but it’s just embarrassing.
It’s like being a D student and feeling a huge sense of accomplishment if you get a D+ or C-…and I KNOW Chappie will be at D23 this summer touting how great the parks are…

It also looks like it still pulls in decent crowds. More than the now defunct DCA version which now hosts watered down PhiliarMagic, which itself does not often have crowds like the picture. But from what I have read on these forms, Disneyland resort 3D shows never pulled as well due to the demographics involving more locals and thus the shows get more stale quicker to them.

Sneezy isn’t working on Seven Dwarfs.

On little mermaid, Ariel’s mouth doesn’t work, sebastian’s digital eyes swapped with static plastic eyes... let’s just say mermaid is a nightmare.

Philharmagic is fine.

Little Mermaid was working fine when I went in early May but the plasticy audio animatronics gives me nightmares.

It has to. So glad for it. The only reasonable wait here today. Rise has been down all day. Alien saucers is only one side as is tower of terror, Star Tours has not all cabins going and of course no mermaid and Genie Plus people desperate to use it.

Thank gosh for muppets. The last people eater left in the park of it's caliber. Ten min wait most all day. A show cycle and you are in

This just tells me it only takes a month for this ride to get into bad shape. Which is a shame, because it is perfectly capable of being a decent dark ride for what it is.

Also, there was no Scuttle in the queue line.

Dang. That is too bad. The curtains were working when I was on it. So unpredictable.

What other things were not working? It was in fantastic shape literally just a couple of days ago! This is a nightmare.

Agreed. Hollywood Studios was literal Hell when we went. Luckily, we had both a DAS pass and a person on a Scooter so we didn't really wait for anything. Heaven help me if we went with just me and my wife. On top of that... The only place we could find a single table to eat was PizzeRizzo. Thank goodness for that place, too. Plenty of seating upstairs... But Backlot and ABC were an absolute dog pile.

Muppets is the most tame part of the park, outside of Frozen, McQueen, and Beast... Oh, and the practically abandoned Animation Courtyard.

I bet my day was equal or worse. today, June 9th Rise was down all day and Tower was down for the count by about 5:30pm. That mixed with all the other capacity issues and bad show...it was yucky. Good thing I had my kids and we ate at Sci Fi and brown derby today so we could spread the chill from the chaos.
