Trip Report It’s Christmalicious Disney Time! COMPLETED!

Well hello fine forum members!

I’M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD! TOMORROW!

With my hubby, too. I think he’s also excited :p

So... this is going to be my attempt at a live trip report. I have managed one or two years ago & failed miserably in more recent times, but I have really enjoyed reading everyone’s reports recently- it really helps with the Disney blues & the countdown to new trips! So I hope I can do the same!

Now the who, when and where- ‘tis my husband Russ and myself, Sam. And we’re leaving tomorrow for 7 nights at the Beach Club! We’re from the U.K. however we’re actually already in America- we flew out on Wednesday to Philadelphia, then got the train to Washington D.C. a day later. We love to see different cities over here & the route worked better with my air miles- plus it means we’ve settled & are over our jet lag in time for our Disney trip! We’ve had fun doing a mix of touristy things and exploring both cities & finding some great restaurants.

And now tomorrow we’re flying out of DCA to Orlando! The airport is a 15 min drive from our hotel & I also love that now we’re already in the US we won’t have to go through customs when we arrive in Orlando- it’s straight on to the Magical Express!
We’re flying with Southwest which we’ve done before- already checked in and in boarding group B which isn’t too bad.

So the reason for the trip title- well, who doesn’t partly/largely come to Disney for the food?! Ha well we do! It’s time to get it alllll in ma belly followed by many a Disney drink. That’s how we do Disney! I am so excited for our ADRs and the Christmas booths in Epcot! Plus, it’s nearly Christmas people! The things I pretty much love in life are Disney, food and Christmas. Hubs & family too, obviously, but... Christmas, delicious food, Disney, all together?! Come on! WOO HOO!

That was us on our last trip- New Years at Disney and the first week of January. And we both got a 48 hour sickness bug on NYE! We spent the evening listening to the fireworks from our room whilst very sick- and didn’t leave for 2 days! :depressed: So this is a redo sort of. Even when we were better both of us couldn’t really enjoy food for a few days. It was also really weird having everything still Christmassy for the week after New Years, so I’m really looking forward to it now being the build up to Christmas and then going back home for Christmas this time.

It feels like there’s so much more to see since last year too- Pandora, Happily Ever After, Sunset Boulevard Christmas stuff & Baseline Tap House & the Epcot Christmas Festival!

Oh- and it’s our 2nd wedding anniversary whilst we’re here! :inlove: I don’t actually think I could be any more excited... bring on tomorrow! :D

We were way too full at this point so just got them to go. We’d been here a leisurely two hours though & really enjoyed it. All that was left to do was walk outside onto the balcony & into the sunshine- and take in Magic Kingdom & Bay Lake for the last time this trip. The music from inside was being piped through, and as we were looking out Tale As Old As Time was being played. It was a very peaceful & nice moment! Even with our very full stomachs!

The meal also means you can come back for the fireworks with your reciept, unfortunately tonight we will be on a plane at that time :(

So we made our way downstairs, full & happy. We browsed the shops on the main floor for a little- then decided we should make our way back to the Boardwalk as we were nearing two hours until our Magical Express. We contemplated getting a minnievan, but ended up walking back along the walkway (and through security again!) and catching a bus. We actually caught a Boardwalk bus so had a stroll around the Boardwalk back to the Beach Club.

We still had an hour & a half so we decided to get some beers & sit on the beach in the sunshine :inlove:

We took in the sights & sounds of the resort & relaxed in the sunshine. We also decided to have some of the desserts from brunch even though we weren’t that hungry yet, as they were melting! They were tasty, but a bit of a waste at this point. We probably would of eaten them later if it had been a normal Disney day.

It was getting pretty warm at this point & we were both in jeans, so we decided to grab one last drink at the pool bar. Omg how much I wanted to swim in the pool right now! We hadn’t been able to this week with the weather & time- which is so hard when you have the best pool! Ah well.

I had a Bourbon Strawberry Sour which I’d tried and grown to like the day before- and I can’t remember what Russ had except they forgot the rum floater on top so it tasted a little weak.

After 20 or so mins we realised we had to accept it was time to go get our bags & wait for the Magical Express :arghh:

We stopped in the shop one last time on the way where I still kept dithering on an iPhone case I’d wanted all week but wasn’t sure still as it was $40! However when we sat outside waiting for the bus, Russ sneaked back in and got it for me! :inlove:

So now I have a reminder everyday to look at.

Sigh... here it was!

Wait, no it wasn’t! It was just dropping people off. Lucky people! This was ours!

Disney, how could you tease us with a Disney Cruise bus at the end of our trip! Alas, it wasn’t to Port Canaveral we were headed, but still the airport.

All aboard... :arghh:

And with that, I finish this trip report!! Only 6 days late on filling in the last day, so not too bad! I’m so glad I did it so I can read back over our trip. It was honestly one of the best ones we’ve had. And maybe it was just because we were having such a good time- but to us there seemed to be a much more positive vibe from all the CM’s- greetings, extra unasked for help that they were happy to give, hellos and goodbyes. We only had one grumpy CM the whole week and that was in AcracadaBar. We had no housekeeping or cleanliness issues- our balcony was even power washed when we were there! We even had painting of the skirting boards in the hall one morning, so maintenance was there too. I really felt like everything had been upped a level.

So there we have it! I can’t believe we’ve almost been home as long as we were in Disney! That’s crazy. And I miss it so much! But it really was just the best trip. Happy, happy memories! :inlove:

Thank you for reading along all that have! I hope you enjoyed

Finally managed to read your entire TR. What a lovely trip you had. My daughter loves Rapunzel and Flynn so we are hoping to do the breakfast with them on our next trip. I've never seen photos from the CG brunch. It looks amazing! I will definitely put that on my list of Disney must-dos! Thanks for sharing your trip with us.

Thank you for reading! Ah yes she'll love the breakfast if you go! And yes the brunch- as may be obvious by now- is awesome! :D I'd hardly seen any photos of it either before we went- I kept trying to find reviews. So I was happy to post them here! Thanks again for reading- and enjoy your next trip!

Those seasonal starbucks drinks sound amazing... but of course I also have a severe starbucks problem...

Ah ha me too! I miss Starbucks as snack points! And Starbucks over here in the U.K. have half the amount of options available. Take me back to Disney World someone please!

Deal! So, someone can sort this for us right...? Right...? :( At least it’s still Christmas week and it’s perfectly acceptable to drink Baileys with my morning (non Disney Starbucks, sigh) coffee yep? Or ice cream for you @Longers ? :D

I did ask Santa for Cinderella’s Castle but he let me down - so Lets hope some of our WDW fairy godmothers can stand in and arrange us a Disney trip!

Funny you should mention ice cream as I normally eat mainly at WDW and not much in day to day life but I will shortly be hitting the ice cream in the freezer! :D
