I got a short list of MK updates. The plan today was for me to meet Tifani and Kenan at 8pm at AMC so we could see a couple movies. I got to Disney at 5, so I went over to MK.
--Signs for Stitch's Great Escape are now up on the construction wall. Also added were a bunch of fake newspaper clippings, saying things like "CREATURE ON THE LOOSE ... BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR SOMETHING ... BLUE". 3 great big SGE signs were added on the wall. I'm guessing that is what the official logo of the ride will look like. I'll post a picture later. Also, I know there have been reports of the wall shaking and you can hear Stitch talking or something like that? I didn't hear anything.
--One of the falling rocks on Thunder Mountain, that has not been working since the rehab, shockingly is still not working.
--The 20k Lagoon is almost completely drained. The King Triton statue was removed, and if you peek over the wall, you can see the wire mesh and other things used to make the fake rocks. Only small puddles of water remain as the only liquid still in the lagoon. The track is fully exposed, and a ladder was stretched out over the station dock.
--I rode Small World today for the last time (thank God) for a while. If you didn't know, the last day of operation and the last day for you to see it in its current state is tomorrow. I got front row, in my very own boat. Actually, because of the bad weather, I was all alone in my Honey Pot on Pooh, all alone on Small World, and shared the Philharmagic theater with only about 60 other people.
--I was all excited to ride Splash Mountain, and to see what was/wasn't working, but unfortunately, Splash was closed because of the weather, and the waterfall was shut off.
--The frozen Minute Maid stand in Fantasyland is undergoing rehab.
And that is about it. I managed to find an even better location to get shots of the 20K lagoon. Right by Dumbo is a bunch of tables and multicolored chairs. Right by them is a concrete flower bed/bench combo thing. If you stand on that, you can see right over the wall.
Another thing I would like to mention is...I'm really glad that Small World is getting the rehab. They are many gashes in the ceiling, and many of the mobiles don't work. Also, maybe I just wasn't looking hard enough, but the only Small World doll with a frown (the one in the balloon) seemed to of been removed. I don't know, I need to have someone back that up, but I could not find it.
With all that being said, we went to the movies, where I just met Tifani (Kenan didn't come because of the weather). We saw Mean Girls, and Envy. Mean Girls was great. It was written by Tina Fey (SNL) and has a few SNL stars (Tim Meadows, Amy Poelher, Ana Gasteyer). Tina really brung the SNL sense of humor to the movie. It was very good...
Envy...on the other hand. When I saw the previews about it being about a guy who invents "va POO rize" I thought it would be funny. It would be an ok movie, and would be funny. The movie was just...bad. I don't know how else to put it.
Anyways, pictures up soon, and I will most likely be going to the parks tomorrow, so look for another ISTCrew Original up tomorrow night.
