Get ready for a little break from the Tax Filing madness. I have a *short* update for you guys today. I only had half a day to go around the parks today. After school got out, I headed over to Epcot for the AP preview of Soarin. I was still excited for the ride, but not as excited as I was to see The Land.
I'm still kind of undecided on how I like the Land makeover. It turned out good, and I'm kind of still hoping more work is left to be done. It's very nice in there...the colors and light atmosphere of it just makes it feel "clean" (if that makes any sense.) When it is not crowded, it feels peaceful. The Garden Grille, Seasons, and The Land itself were given newer, less dated logos. Looking down on the lower floor from the Main Entrance of the pavalion provides the best view. They have these lighting decorations which remind me of silver trees. Seating is all over the bottom floor, and the food counters have been pushed back. All I could think was "Pop Century food court" when I saw the new Seasons food court. That isn't a bad thing...just nothing new.
The one thing i really dislike about the makeover...
the carpet isn't very tasteful, but we'll see after the tables go in.
Here are some more pics:
close up of the balloons.
The Soarin' guests going through the exit hallway, which is under part of the queue for the ride.
I also walked around the Flower and Garden Festival a little bit.
Doesn't that slide look fun?!
One of the 50 Hidden Mickeys.
Now for some Downtown Disney news.
Signage is up for the new Goofy's Candy Co.
Seems the old Goofy's Candy Co. has now been changed to:
Sad to say, the Kaliedescope is still gone.
That's it for today. I also shot a video of the Land building so you can get a feel of where everything is in relation to each other. If anyone can host it for me, it would be greatly appreciated. Just let me know :animwink:
And that's it for today...who knows, maybe another update tomorrow?
