We bussed over to Port Orleans, and boated from there to DTD. The boatdriver was telling the boat about Saratoga Springs. This was new Information to me : The resort will have 700 and something rooms. The first phase (close to 80 rooms) will open in may. The second phase will be under construction ... Until the END of NEXT year!!!

From what people that will be working there have told me, 70 rooms are due to open in May, followed by 70 rooms per month for 5 or 6 months, then a 5 or 6 month break before the rest of the resort opens.

Oh ok, that makes sense. For a resort to open with only 70 rooms is kind of stupid. It seems like one bus could service the whole resort:lol: . On the boat ride over, you get a close view of the buildings, and while I have never seen the actual Saratoga Springs, they did a realy nice job with the architecture of those buildings. On the outside, it looks like landscaping is done in that area. As for the rooms...You can't see inside them, but some of them are still missing balconies.

Great update, as always. Were the parks really crowded?

The only things we did were the Backlot Tour, and Test Track (I didn't wait for TT, but there was a 135 minute line...85 mins for standby)

TOT was 85 mins in the morning, but then went down to 50. It wasn't crowded like I was expecting. No lines for bag checks or turnstiles. That was because they had much more staff on hand to seal with the crowds. I heard AK closed to guests because of to many guests.

I have also been meaning to say for some time that AMC at Pleasure Island is the only theater in the Central Florida area to offer HOTR in a digital format.

That is correct Disney purchased the DLP system at AMC 24 for AMC somewhere around 1.4 million I heard.... usually ALL Disney releases there are shown Digital.

I actually got to tour the DLP projector area its very cool and amazing. Basic geek news on it. think of it like a giant pc with around 100 gigs worth of space on the hard drives. A movie like Lord Of The Rings would come on 6 DVD discs and would loaded onto the DLP system then tweaked for the best video and sound.

Sometimes it works for me, and sometimes it doesn't. Most of the time, it gives me "this page cannot be displayed" crap, but other times, it works.

Nice update, Patrick! I'm starting to enjoy the small details that people don't usually post in a trip report. Those small things are sometimes the most memorable for us once a year types.

Thanks buddy. That's one of the things I love about Disney ... I have gone so many times and every single time, I discover something new.

BTW, where do you live Patrick, 'cause you're lucky to be going to WDW so many times in a year. Wish I could live near the world... Damn! :hammer:

 ... The lady that was running the booth that we did the postcard in...she was like "Go 'head and do whatever you would like ... I won't laugh". As soon as we start talking, there she goes, just laughing up a storm. Tifani didn't have any British spirit when we did this one. She was just saying how dumb I sounded:rolleyes:

Anyways, It's back to school tomorrow (Tuesday). I should be going to the parks on either Saturday or Sunday. My pass expires on APRIL 28TH!!! A whole year has gone by already! I'm renewing though, but I'm not positive that Tifani will be renewing, so things may be changing soon ...

LOL, nah, although I have been living on test track the past few days. I think I might have seen ya in MGM near Muppets or the backlot. Cant really remember though.
