Oh, my gosh! I finally saw an Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye on-ride video! Disney World SO needs it! If Cali Adventure can have Tower of Terror, we deserve this! Also, if you ever wondered what the differences were between disneyland rides and disney world rides (if you are like me and have never been to dl), go to http://disneylandsource.com/main/explore.html ...our Splash Mountain is SO much better...however, I would also love to see Believe...There's Magic in the Stars at our Magic Kingdom...that show looks AMAZING. Anyway...very impressed with those two and I also saw Matterhorn for the first time, which would be a welcomed-addition to Epcot--with a little bit better technology.

I agree..I have ridden the DL indy ride and its FANTASTIC..the only thing CLOSE to it we have in FL is Dinosaur...and that is soooo tame compaired to the greatness of the Indy one ;)

I would love to see it at WDW. I rode it a couple of years ago and just loved it. Even the que was fun and very well themed.

I just watched the video. The queue is very well themed, and (from what you can see) the ride looks great as well. I'd definitely like to see something like that at WDW.

And, admittingly, I like the live show, once I've seen it, I don't care to see it much more. I wouldn't mind that area being turned into the ride. (of course, I don't know the square footage of the area, or the show or the ride).

New Movie

I saw an article the other day that there will be an Indy 4. Spielberg, Ford, and Lucus are all on board. It will probally come out late 2003 or summer 2004. I would guess the later.

Maybe there will be a new ride to go along with the new movie. It will have interest peaking to draw crowds.

Hopefully having the movie will get the ride to DW because it belongs at MGM.

If wdw does get an Indy ride, I can't see it going into MGM. I would have thought it would "fit" in AK, plus it would also help raise the profile of AK, as many people still think it a weak park compared to the other 3.

It is true that they have AGREED to do an Indy4...with all the original people on board...however...they have not finished or finalized a story.....it is also confirmed that Lucas stated he wouldnt commit any time to it until his Starwars series were done....so thats ANOTHER 2 years...*sigh*

I agree it would fit into AK, except that Dinosaur is the same ride system as Indy....I wuold hate to see the stunt show get replaced..but...looking at it from a profit point of view..it would be economically advantageous for them to replace it...the stunt show requires more people to run, doesnt have such a high "turnout" rate like a ride does...and a ride would get a sponsor...

I dont see it happening anyway...at least not any time soon...

Perhaps they will change the focus of the stunt show. Isn't the one at DLP going to be based around Armageddon? If they did that, it would leave the way to keep Indy in MGM in the form of the new ride.

Sorry scratch that, the Armageddon thing is a special effects show, they are having a "Stunt Show Spectacular", still might fit where the Indy show is at the moment.

I think that the Indy ride is great. I have had opportunity to ride it at DL 3 times. I would rather see a new ride go somewhere in WDW than see another ride be recycled. If I want to ride Indy, I'll go to DL. Give me something new!!:animwink:

I think they should do something with James Bond :D.

Anyway, I rode Indy at DL this past summer and it was the best dark ride I have ever been on.

But where?
MK - In Adventureland: Likely
EPCOT - Maybe Mexico or some other country: Not Likely
MGM - With the Indy Show - Likely
AK - One word: Dinosaur

I hadn't even really thought about it but Adventureland seems like a good place to put it. I don't know how willing they would be to put it there now since they just added Aladdin. It's kind of small paths with Aladdin there, a lot more people are going there to do something besides Pirates and JC.

I think disney wants this ride in each of its parks in the same way it wants Rock 'n' Roller Coaster in each park. That's why Tokyo just got it. I would think MK would be the most probable place for it, since MK hasn't gotten anything MAJOR in a while, whereas Epcot and AK have MAJOR projects in the works, MGM just got it's 100 Year of Magic makeover and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster...and the proposed Star Wars ride...they could actually retheme the indy ride for either Adventureland or Frontierland...

Hmm, I think the ride would be sweet in WDW, they could put it where the backlot express is now. I love the stunt show, it's a great showcase of indy and stunts. If the had to take the Stunt show's place to be in MGM, I vote no, put it in Adventureland. If it can go next to the stunt show, I say fabulous, put it there.

Ah! But here's the rub! They didn't have space for the ride at DL either. What they did instead was make a narrow cue area that looks like an old temple. They fake you out for an agonizingly long time-albiet the scenery is nice and elaborate. Next thing you know, you're actually way outside of the park. They actually put the ride building in the old parking lot. It's quite a bit outside of Adventureland.

Thus, all they need is some space for the path to the ride area. They can do almost the same kind of elaborate cue area and put the damned ride building in anywhere semi-adjacent to Adventureland. Granted it would take some thinking on the Imagineers part as far as a good placement for the ride's cue entrance...

Then again, my vote is for putting the ride in at Disney Studios since it is, after all, a non-Disney movie. Makes more sense to have it at the movie park. Only problem is--Disney MGM would have probably the three most innovative attractions in all of WDW if they did that with Indy, ToT and RnRC.

Magic Kingdom hasn't gotten a good e-ride in a while. Adventureland is kinda crowded. Perhaps they could slide the entrance west of Jungle Cruise, and retheme the ride entrance to be more like Raiders of the Lost Ark and have the queue be the infamous cave with everyone's favorite music playing in the background. Why the cave? Well, this would allow disney to have the queue go either over or under the railroad, and have the actual ride building beyond it (like Space Mountain). It'd be my idea of what Adventureland REALLY deserves...not Magic Carpets...(although they can stay...adds color to adventureland...). Of course, this same exact ride plan could be used at MGM, having the cave sneak around the existing Indy stunt show, with the actual ride building behind it.
