No
I keep my phone protected. It stays in my purse, which if the rain is that bad, goes into a plastic bag. They also sell waterproof holders for your smartphone (I've seen ones sold at Beach Club Marketplace that allow you to take your phone in the pool). And no, I do not believe Disney will replace your phone. You see, you can go indoors if you need to do something with MM+. There are plenty of locations. Or use an umbrella. It's a wonderful device

I have lived in Florida since before the invention of the cell phone and have had once since before the Motorola Startac was considered the cutting edge of technology. I have never had one go out due to rain.

My wife started as a postal carrier about 4 weeks ago. In that 4 weeks she has delivered through 4, hour plus thunderstorms including tropical storm Andrea and her Smartphone remained unharmed.

My level of worry about using my smartphone in the rain at Disney.....less than zero.

If I'll need my smartphone to enjoy the Shark reef at TL I will have some concern.

man, diesel phone... I got caught in a storm walking from work to the train and it got soaked in my bag. After drying in a bag of rice it never came back to life. The screen died, or a major portion of it, and only a small white segment lit. Sure I could have had it repaired but it would likely have been more than the cost of a new phone.

It was an older blackberry, btw.

Since I am THE backpack guy in my family, I just bring a rolled up drysac... so, if the skies are turning black out comes that drysac.

Modern electronics are surprisingly resistant to pure water. Salt water will cook them almost instantly, but even full immersion in pure water is very survivable.

I keep my phone in an Otterbox. Between what i was out in as a law enforcement officer and what I have dealt with as an emergency manager I haven't had a lick of trouble. That being said, it goes in a ziploc bag on Kali River Rapids and rides like that. Also, if you phone does get wet, stick it in a bowl of rice. It will cure most issues as the water evaporates and/or soaks into the rice.

No, but I'm sure they'd give a small plastic bag to those incapable of either watching a weather report or are oblivious to darkening skies and rumbles of thunder overhead.....

What is this word "Give"? Disney does not "give" things for free. Now they would be happy to "sell" you a $10.00 zip lock bag....;)

Good to know that Florida rain is safe.

I always bring zip baggies with me when I go to the World, always have even before "smartphones"...damp/rain/Splash Mountain phone is safe in the baggie in the cargo pants pocket. Camera in the other pocket in a baggie...

I dropped my iPhone in the baby pool just last Wednesday. I scooped it up right quick but it was under completely for a couple seconds. Shockingly it was totally fine everything works same as always. I have an Otterbox on it but not the heavy duty one. The case had a few drops of water inside and I had to blow water out of the speakers, eat piece and jacks, dried it with a towel and it was fine. I think it can handle a rain drop or two.

Pop it in a baggie and relax.

I leave when it rains...unless the Village People are playing, in which case I slosh through ankle-deep water and stand in the rain to listen to the band. ;) Gotta have priorities. :D

I don't know if my iPhone 4S is waterproof. I keep it in the front pocket of my wristlet. When I do rides such as Splash Mountain, the wristlet and phone go in my backpack.

I guess since I don't have a smartphone I can't go to WDW anyway?
Sure you can.

And you can be just as carefree as they were in the 90's because you don't have to worry about such things as getting a phone wet.

Hey people... The real world is out there....not inside your phone.
