Is this true about the Duff beer at USF?

I read this on another site:

"Taste wise, regular Duff is most comparable to Heineken, Duff Lite to Miller Lite, and Duff Dry to Guinness."

Is this in any way, shape, or form true? I am particularly interested about the Duff Dry. I just find this very hard to believe, even if brewed by a microbrewery. But I would love for it to be true!

I didn't think that Duff Lite was as bad as beast (Milwaukee's Best), but it really was pretty comparable to a Bud Light or Miller Lite.

They're all brewed by the Florida Beer Company in Melbourne, btw.

I wouldn't say Guinness (or any stout). Duff Dry is very hoppy, like something Sam Adams would put out, maybe their Octoberfest.

BTW, I think Duff is closer to Yuengling, and Duff Lite closer to Milwaukee's Best or whatever the cheap college kid beer of choice is these days. Just my take.

Come on, we all know the truth about the different Duff beers....

Duff Dry equals either Guiness or something really hoppy? Well, that definitely makes sense.

So it's either similar to a stout or an IPA. Someone definitely doesn't know their beer!

The cast members are telling people that Duff Dry is like a Guinness, but my friends that have tried it say that it is not. I have not tried it so I can't say for sure.

I had a hard time believing this, but I thought I would ask all the same. I was hoping! And btw, sounds like false advertising to me if they are claiming Guinness and it is nothing like it! ;)

I think it's more beer ignorance than false advertising. If you've had one Guiness in your life when you were drunk on St Patricks Day, you probably believe all dark beers taste the same.

Actually, I just finished listening to Ricky Brigante's latest inside the Magic podcast, and he had an interview with the creative director for the Springfield expansion, can't remember the name. But, he mentioned what all the beers are, and specifically stated that Duff Dry is going to be a seasonal. So, since it will be rotating, that's probably where the confusion comes from.

Duff Dry is more like Bare Knuckle Stout for those who remember that from Beer School at SeaWorld.

I LOVED Duff Dry, chocolate without the ashiness many stoudts have- and not heavy or too high in ABV. I thought it was weird that you can't get it at Moe's or keep the bottle :( Once the aluminum bottles come out we will have our Duff Beer souvenir!
