Here's a question...can you have friends in on it bid on these items just to jack up the price or get good feedback??? Cause if this does go through some fool will be out whatever the cost is! Ebay would never know about the money transaction so the two could just give each other + feedback.

Ebay will get their cut regardless of whether the transaction is consumated (there's a word I don't use every day). So, if they think it's a joke and friends are bidding it up for a yuk, Ebay will have the last laugh.

but you have to pay fees to ebay ....
"When your listing ends, you will be charged a Final Value Fee based on the final sale price (or "final value") of your item:

Regular and Reserve Price Auctions (when the reserve has been met)
The final value is the closing bid. Remember, there is no Final Value Fee charged if the reserve is not met. "

Perhaps I should bid 20,000. :D

I doubt the guy gets the money, I looked at the bid history, a few things look bad. He may get some money, but I doubt it will be anything close to 16,000.

Someone isn't actually going to pay for that???? Especially that much. But don't you still have to pay to have listed it????

Listing fee is not that much starting at $99. If the auction does end around $16,000, he can get his money back if it falls through and potentially sell to the next highest bidder for nothing.

I think the first one should get something ... they put a little effort and all and were serious about the auction I don't think ebay should hold anything against them on it ....I don't think it deserves like 25 thousand tho lol... but the copy cats ... those listing aren't serious and with bids like the one is getting I can see ebay being a little miffed at them .

But the one is already at 95 million that is the high bid. I guess I am still baffled. Now, if it was the ghost of Walt DIsney, I'd be selling off my first born.....
