Is this crazy?

I am really trying to plan a trip for this October during my fall break, but DH has said that he probably won't want to go (he's Disney'd out for a while). The chances of him actually being home during that time are slim anyway, but either way he probably won't be joining me. My WDW Magic friend who I was thinking about trying to go with has fall break at a different time than me, and my brother may or may not have a fall break that lines up with mine. Even if his does line up, he's about to be a junior in college and living on his own for the first time ever, so he's basically broke and the only way he could go would be if I paid for at least half of his ticket and food price. What I'm trying to say is I'm not sure if I'll have anyone to go with, but I'm holding onto hope that if no one will join me, I'll at least be able to meet up with a couple folk who will be there the same time.

The potentially crazy part is ADRs. I'm within my 180-day window (though I haven't booked my room due to waiting on DVC points to become available) and I want to book ADRs. Since I'm not sure if anyone will be with me or not, I'm thinking I should make them for two people, to be on the safe side. To be completely honest, I'm not sure if I'll end up going at all since I don't generally travel alone. Am I crazy for making ADRs based on probably going alone and possibly with someone?

Wow, I sound like I belong in an institution...

We need time for things to happen.
I think around here this kind of question is the opposite of crazy.

I would do it in heart beat. Make the ADRs for two and if you have to add or subtract a person or two it should not be a problem. Especially since you still have quite a bit of time and you will probably be getting a better idea of what your plans are as the time gets closer.

I hope you find someone to go! I think it'd be brave of you to go solo. Even though I love Disney and do everything in my power to get down there as often as possible, if I went by myself I would just feel lonely. I need people to talk to. If I did go solo, I would absolutely be booking spa treatments and stuff so that I could have some human interaction or maybe try to get in on a golf game with some other people. I just wouldn't be comfortable being alone for so long.

You know what you could do if you went solo? You could do constant trip updates during your trip so it would feel like all of us are with you?

Ok, so I checked out the whole trip report. Sounds like your MIL is controlling and mostly passive aggressive about it. She wants what she wants, and wants every doing what she wants, no matter what. Mine is the same way.
Sorry she couldn't be better behaved for you wedding, but it was lovely! Especially the photos you took all over EPCOT. Stunning!

And I just have to say this - Reuben is scum! To take a 4 year old to stay with someone you do not know at all, just so you can hook up? Rotten, rotten, rotten!

Yes, his mother made for a lovely experience. We wrote her a pretty long letter expressing our feelings about the situation after the wedding and a couple months later received an "I'm sorry" card from Hallmark with her name signed on it. DH hasn't talked to her since the wedding...

Yes, Reuben is pretty skanky. If it wasn't our honeymoon, we probably would have kept him with us.

As everyone else said make your ADR's and if you have to go by yourself. None of us would turn down any trip to WDW, solo or not.

Have you been solo before?

No, I've never been on a solo trip. The closest I've come was about three hours solo at Epcot before I met up with @maryszhi on the day my husband had his day-long bachelor (paintball) party!

I'd book ADRs for 2 now, even if you aren't 100%. Life is so much easier when you have the ADR vs. trying to get that ADR. The pay in full up front at CRT is the only time when I get nervous about that since it's a lot of $ to be out in advance when you're not even sure on things.

Ah yes. I read your trip report. I feel for you with the inlaws. :( great photos though!

I say try the solo trip. Could be awesome. I wish i had tried it when i could. As the only Disney obsessed person I know it would have been cool to explore on my own.
