"Water Parks: Dive into any of our three sun-splashed Water Parks. At Blizzard Beach, Florida sun meets alpine snow. For an exotic, tropical paradise, splash into Typhoon Lagoon. Whichever you choose, you'll enjoy a day of wonderful watery fun complete with thrills for every member of the family and distinctly Disney touches all around" - http://disneyworld.disney.go.com

They mention three water parks, yet earlier on the site they mention two and they only discuss two here. Is this a mistake or is there something I don't know?

Well we still have River Country which closed down in 2001. The park is still there (Near Ft. Wilderness) it just has not opened back up yet. RC Was my favorite of all the water parks, granted they didnt have the big slides and attractions that the other parks had, it just had a sense of seclusion to it..

It is use to be three when River Country was in operation. Now it's two. They just forgot to change the spiel.

Is River Country closed for good? I thought it was a temporary thing.

It's been temporarily closed for 2 years or more. I would'nt hold my breath waiting for it to re-open. :animwink: I've heard all kinds of rumors on why it closed, from low attendence to bad water quality, and I don't expect it to re-open anytime soon, if ever.

Cheers

When I called WDW they said it was closed indefinately. But after being closed for this long...I don't see it reopening anytime soon if ever. There was once a rumor about a rehab and making it FW's new pool for those guests only...but I don't see that happening ever either.

Wasn't River Country alleged to have been Eisner's favorite water park concept, harkening back to the days of his youth...or some such nonsense?

Am I the only one that thinks it would sound so much better if it said 'At Blizzard Beach, Florida sun meets alpine fun.'???
