I'm not sure if it's good news, but I don't think it could be bad! I received the same e-mail last week, and today I got a letter telling me that my application is still being processed and is pending a final decision. They also said I am a strong candidate for the program and have been invited to attend a character performer audition (entertainment was my first choice). Does this mean that I find out if I'm in the program after the audition? And would I find out at the audition or another 2-3 weeks later since that seems to be their favorite time frame? Oh and sorry 1 more question, if I made it as a character and/or into the shows and parades , do they tell you which ones at the audition or when you get down there? Hey Chapman, if you get a little letter in your mailbox next week, don't let it psych you out like it did me, it might not the the "final" letter. What a bummer :brick: But hopefully in your case it is! Good luck and hopefully I'll c-ya down there!

Umm... technically I'm a 'criminal' and I've been not only a CP, but a Campus Rep as well. Disney won't hire violent criminals... but stupid things (i.e. alcohol related crimes) won't disqualify you. It depends on what you did, when you did it and what the final result (i.e. probation, community service) was.

To those who were stupid (and drunk) when they were 19 like me... you can still have a promising career with Disney. Just don't get in trouble again, and change your friends...

One of my friends was terminated for alcohol possession 4 hours before his 21st birthday last summer while working as a CP, was arrested this fall for public intoxication (unlucky fellow), and is applying to the CP for Fall Advantage. How likely is it that he will get in despite these incidents?

I want to be able to utilize his hotel discount and free passes!

Zero chance...if you're termed...there's no hope for the rest of your life!

Are you sure, or were you being facetious? I'm fairly sure he told me some of the people he worked with last time had previously been terminated...

it depends on what you were termed for and what re-hire status you were given at the time of your termination... if he got termed for drinking on the CP, I highly highly doubt he'd get into the CP again

Ha! Not true... It's not a life-long ban. That's just another CP Rumor. A termination means its very unlikely a person will be employed by a Disney-owned company for several years. I can't remember the exact amount of years (I think it's 3 though). But like mentioned earlier, it depends on the situation.

Note to self...don't use sarcasm on the message boards..I was implying that it would be incredibly difficult to get a job as a cp again after you were termed for your first one for alcohol possession. You could probably do it, if your re-hire status allowed, but you would need to be a very good persuader to the person interviewing you.

While he was being terminated, he asked his supervisor (or something like that) if he'd be able to get into the CP program again. She told him it wouldn't affect his ability to get in...is this 'rehire status'?

Also, isn't just getting the interview a good sign, or are those always scheduled?

Interviews are "automatically" scheduled at completion of the presentation. By the point of the interview, they have not even checked their records or your academic status yet.

He just got an email today from Jay Henry stating this:

"Our records indicate that you have been previously employed with our company, are no longer an active cast member and currently have a restricted or no rehire status. To aid in your application process, please fill out the enclosed paperwork making sure to detail the circumstances of your departure from the company and return it to me as soon as possible. You may fax this information (both sides) to 407-934-6878 with attention to Jay Henry for a quicker response time."

But he told me he has a voicemail saved from Mike Lutz (sp) in the college program who informed him that he would be able to be rehired 6 months after the date of the incident. I guess we'll see what Jay says about that. I hope this all works out, I really really want to make a trip down there to see him this summer!

Sorry, I'm now told the name was Mike Putz, not Lutz. My friend is still having quite a difficult time with Jay Henry.

He sent Jay an email stating "I was told by Mike Putz shortly after being informed that I was terminated that I was eligible for rehire six months after being terminated. Since Christmas Eve 2006 was that six month marker, I was wondering what my actual status was."

Henry responded that since he was terminated in December, he wouldn't be eligible until June...uhhh...
